The rules are the rules.
Want different rules? Start your own forum.

That said, there are ways to get his information out without breaking the rules.

this would be a stronger argument if the rules were applied objectively across the board. this clearly is not the case (and whatever, pure objectivity might be impossible)

but you can't just trot this out and end the discussion, IMO, if they are applied arbitrarily

That is your choice. However it is legal to drink and drive. It only become illegal when you drink "too much" and drive.
- RooNosHockey

True.

.08 or higher in PA or even less than that if there's evidence that you are incapable of safe driving.

But if you are wise, you realize that even just 1 impairs you some. And why take that kind of risk with your own life, the life of the people in your car, and the lives of the people you'll hopefully pass but maybe not along your way?
- bodiva88

If I lived in the city where public transportation is cheap and excessable that may be an option. But I dont. I live in the suburbs and there is no tram, metro, or subway. And Cabs take 30 minutes to call, and when you have to drive 10-15 miles to your home.... costly.

I drink, and I drive responcibly. I will have 2 beers with my Pop tonight, with dinner, and judging by my body weight and tolerance, I should be good to drvie in about an hour.

And if your going to say that someone shouldnt drive because 1 impares their reflexes slightly, I want the driver liscense for anyone older then 65, because age impares thier reflexes majorly....

Deadline has learned that Rob Zombie will direct Broad Street Bullies, a movie about the notoriously thuggish Philadelphia Flyers hockey team that came into being during the 1970s. The team was famous for playing the supposedly unbeatable Soviet Union team of the time, known as the Red Army. The Flyers ended up playing so violently that the Russians wanted to quit after the first period. They did came back, however, when they were told that they wouldn't be paid unless they played the full game and the Flyers ended up winning 4-1, declaring themselves world champions.

The site says that Zombie plans to make the film something like Rocky meets Boogie Nights and has a quote from the director saying. "Each character involved is more outrageous than the next. The backdrop of the turbulent year of 1974 is perfect for this ‘stranger than fiction’ sports tale."

I agree... What's the harm in taking a cab both ways and leaving your car? In all honesty, is there a single positive outcome that could come from drinking even just one and driving?

I didn't mean to cause a debate and imply the MODs are doing a bad job. Actually, I think they do a good job dealing with the amount of personalities here. I just wanted to hear what that guy had to say as I didn't feel he was being malicious. I also feel on a site predicated on taking someone at their word the same should go for its posters. IMHO, the debate he sparked was I interesting at the very least and not pages of rambling about my opinion is right and yours is wrong.

i'm not arguing with that, i agree. i'm just saying it's not always so cut and dry. and it probably shouldn't be, so i don't mean it as a dig at anyone. just saying that it takes a little steam off of the "rules are rules" justification

but i've gone on too much with this already, my bad, i'm done

I am with Scoob on this. Its just not that hard. If you drink at all, you shouldnt drive. If you are driving, no texting either. Politicans are just too weak to force this law on people. Getting behind a wheel is the single most dangerous behavior we do. By FAR. Its safer to sky dive or bungie jump.

For me there is no debate. I am not taking any added risk for me or my family.

Safe Ride Taxi
(302) 252-5772

Problem solved. If you can't afford a cab you sure as won't be able to afford your lawyers fees for a DWI, or worse when you are facing 25 ears for Vehicular Manslaughter. And that's not even considering the cost your family endures if you were killed in accident. I live on Long Island and it's a big problem here. In the past few years alone we've lost 3 cops who had been hit by drunk drivers and infamous case where a young guy crashed his pickup into a limo coming from a wedding killing a 5 year old girl and another person as he merged the wrong way on the parkway. He will spend the rest of his life in federal prison. There is just not one good reason. If you can't afford it call a buddy or walk.
