I say good for you for having a cause, but its not as clear cut as you think it is. For example, someone has a drink with dinner gets in thier car and is perfectly ok to drive. The town thier are in the legal limit is .1, but they drive through a town that is .08, and they somehow blow a .09. Your saying to give jail time to this mother of 4 that had 1 drink out with her friends, and was legal except in a no tolerance zone... blah blah blah.. but see how it's not so cut and dry.

Both my Uncle (at 5 years old) and my Grandmother were killed by drunk drivers, however I'm not going to critize everyone that gets pulled over and gets a DUI (or DWI depends on the state.) Fact is if your close to the legal limit it is sometimes difficult to judge. And dont give me that if you dont know dont drive BS because 1 drink can put you over the legal limit.

Simple.

Any alcohol = no driving

lol ya i know. it would definitely fill a need for both sides. makes a lot of sense aside from each player having a nm(or t)c
- OrangeBlack27

It does for sure. Next two weeks with the draft and FA starting should be some interesting times.

I have a gut feeling Holmgren is up to something big.

i get that. i just think you won't miss much without him. the amount of GA and GF he's responsible wash out, imo.

Not even sure why it's being discussed as if it should be up for debate.

A terrible return on the cap investment.
- 77rams

i don't think anyone is doubting the fact he's overpaid...but with the cap going up this year, added to the fact Pronger is most likely not going to be playing, along with our ability to shed salary with a young forward, AND that his huge salary replaces Kimmo Timmonens for ONLY one year total after this coming year....

i can see Homer doing it.

the draft will be fascinating in and of itself because there's a large amount of risk and uncertainty unseen in year's past, despite a good talent pool.

Read is a versatile player, capable of scoring 20 goals a year and who can play in all situations for a modest cap hit. Hard to find guys like that for that price.

Yes, I want the Flyers draft the best available player which is always their strategy, I just hope that player happens to be a defenseman. I have seen mock drafts with as many as 17 d-men going in the first round.

oh.. another fail by me..

Rumor suggests Kane wants out.

JvR is signed to a mid-long range deal that should be super cap friendly. Voracek could be signed to a pretty similar deal...

Both are young and have prettty high ceilings... and if they lose their goalie they will need a new one.. thats where Bob comes in.

Flyers get a kid who was born to wear O&B, and the offensive d-man they need.

its a tough call...
either way some people just don't get the hint after they get one, or even two even....

I wish today was Thursday so the all the wheeling and dealing can occur.

After that I wish it was June 30th so FA can occur.

plus, he's a known commodity. the draft pick (which would likely be around 20 or later) is not and isn't a sure thing to make the nhl, let alone have the impact that read does.

Well I'm about to go take my Dad out for Father's Day since I had to take my wife to DC Sunday. I plan to go eat dinner and have a beer with him. And I am driving home. I guess that makes me a mass murderer.

I agree on harsh penalities for people that are repeat offenders and for people that are way above the legal limit, or have an accident in which alcohol was the cause.... But just saying jail time for anyone that gets a DUI...
