C'mon ladies and gents. We are all Flyers fans here. No need to argue. I love to hear as much as I can. Whether it's poop or gold, I still like the ideas coming through. We all agree we want the best for the team. Homer is a very good GM. We know he will do something, standing pat isn't one of his better traits. However, insider..insiderr...insideher...it's all the same. Only the names have changed. Everyday, it seems we're wasting away.

it's a contest more or less...source, link, insider, brow beat down, questions upon queistions...simply instead of conversation it turns into a debate then an arguement...then a COC warning...

aah I just let them share my popcorn while I read the silly-season inspired posts

Edit: gotta love it when someone says they know someone who spoke to someone who knows someone and thus has inside information.

Yeah, normally I'd agree about Homer's early moves but it truly seems like they are going hard after a big name free agent, hence why we havent seen Carle or Jagr or Jake re-up'd yet. I can definitely see them trying to move up in the draft though if someone good starts to fall. I just feel like theyre going to hang on to JVR and other peices until they know exactly what's going on with Suter.

Worst case scenario would be to trade JVR only to find out the Pred's are going to start listening to offers on Weber. Then that deal starts with Schenn.

- hereticpride

Even if they wanted to right now, they couldn't re-sign Carle or Jagr.

that is exactly why.

edit: in his defense, though, speculation and rumor is more fun.

and lack of tagging space doesn't necessarily mean that they otherwise would be signed. maybe that's just a coincidence. just wanted to make sure that their hands are indeed tied

They can't re-up them because of tagging space. Jake got his offer and I feel Carle is a done deal, just can't be announced till the 1rst when the new cap is in place. So....is bill the best for the quickest updates?

overall Darren Dreger is pretty good, along with Bill...

See, that was my thought too. It's not like the Flyers have 12 high end execs and no one else on the payroll. And some people low on the totem pole do "leak" (true or false) just to feel important.

Because you don't have the veteran offensive guys around anymore in Carter, Richards, and Leino.

Getting Weber will include JVR and probably Read or Schenn, even Coots. You're taking away two potential top 6 forwards, and you're going to replace them with whom? Shelley and Rinaldo?

- KGBflyers10

The rumored asking price is JVR and Voracek, which accounted for 29 of the how many goals? And 44 assists. I think that is doable to replace.

The mods around here are a lot like the officials in the NHL. They just make up the rules as they go and make a lot of bad calls.
- Schenn2shine

And the posters are a lot like Sidney Crosby (if you're a Flyers fan) and Mike Richards (if you're a Pens fan) with the whining.

We'll find out soon. I'll take (informal) bets on this though.

I suggest Weber and Parise won't happen.

Maybe Jagr doesn't sign and they get a more physical presence. We'll see.

I thought correcting another's grammar and spelling was also against the Code of Conduct.

As in everything with life, I guess it depends on the severity and good judgement of our citizens.

- Daman

Not to beat the idiomatic dead horse, but the correction was of the lexical variety as opposed to the grammatical. Given the context of the stated malapropism (despite its comical irony), it was an entirely reasonable correction to be had.

actually the rule is pretty clear on the issue, if you want to discuss a rumor name your source otherwise at like you are speculating.

overall the MOD's give us a lot of rope before they take action.

when someone says "then ban me", the mods need to take action because their being called out to do something.

For the most part we bring the action onto ourselves because we tend to bring down the conversation with the way people respond to other peoples posts.

Almost like add to the conversation instead of questioning the post or always trying to prove your opinion is the right opinion...etc...

You should be banned on so many levels for that comment.

1. Speaking in a foreign language
2. Questioning authority
3. Questioning the spirit of the law

Let's talk about hockey and rumors, but only hockey rumors that are not fictional rumors but instead rumors with some degree of legitimacy and perhaps a scale of probability (e.g. E4).
