That's completely irrelevant because you draft based on potential of a 17/18 year old, not the potential of a 22 year old.

I really dont understand the hate for Dumba. Scouts say his game may not translate to the NHL? Well fine, so maybe he cant be as physical. Doesnt take away from his offensive and defensive abilities.

probably mid to late first round... its a weak draft year. but his elc has been burned through, reducing his value. I believe he is a patchwork / project 2nd center, a good third. I think teams take a player in the first they think has better potential

I love how all the little trolls keep going on about how Gagner isn't worth the 8th pick straight across. I certainly hope its not, no way do i feel like this is a good trade for the oilers.

Yes, consistent 45(about average) point seasons since coming into the league as a 18 year old lol, more points than anyone in his draft class other than Kane, which includes JVR and Turris. But you are right

In my mind the kadri pick seemed as if it was done in order to get a Gagner on toronto. Gagner = Kadri's Ceiling. And he was 7th overall.

I think that would be a gross overpayment by Toronto. Grabovsky is within the top 5 best players in the league just under Kessel and Lupul. If Columbus wants Grabo they better start with the 2nd overall pick and Rick Nash otherwise Toronto is getting fleeced.

Yes here i might have made an assumption, but GENERALLY defense take a couple of years to even just get into the NHL, its probably safe to assume that these dmen are no exception

Most of these kids will be in the NHL much sooner rather then later ala the '08 draft, a comparable year in terms of the number of defensmen with high end potential.

thing is flames lack a center like horcoff. A defensive minded center that wins faceoffs.

So he has some value. but they'll have to really sweeten the pot to eat up his contract for 3 yrs since Jbo's is only 2 more (so not as bad as it seems)
