Thats what would have to happen if the trade went down, but we would probably be a lottery team next year as well, I dont think that there are any second line centers in the free agent market. Sounds like jordan staal is off to carolina

Gagner for the 8th is clearly a better deal for the canes IMO. Gagner and Staal have similar offensive production anyway...

Depends what you consider a 2nd liner. The other thing is if you have Hemsky/Yak and Hall on your wing do you need that good of a 2nd liner?

I wouldn't give anything for him. Just wait for him to become a UFA. Unless ownership is demanding playoffs this year.

It's possible. I just can't see them paying that much for him. He's got some upside, but he's more likely in the range of a project for project swap or maybe a mid 1st.

Cloutier, you're as bad as most Oiler fans when it comes to trades.

There's no way Carolina moves the 8th overall pick straight across for Sam Gagner - no way it's happening!!!

Second, there's no way Jay-Bo ever plays for the Oilers, at least not now and he won't be traded for Horcoff. If the Oilers want him, they'll be giving up youth and talented youth at that.

But since you all think the Oilers can rob other teams, maybe Klefbom, Pitlick & the Oilers 1st/2013 head to the Flames for Jay-BO.

What do you think about that - haha!!
