By great, I mean steady/reliable. He is a reliable defensemen, good teams have players like him, they don't wow you, but they also don't let you down. He's consistent and solid throughout the season. - _Zippy_
OK, this I agree with. |

Not true. He has been so solid this year and in the playoffs. Showed some good composure. He is also big and has good reach. I don't see any reason to just let him go. - zach parise9
I'm not saying just let him go, I'm saying don't overpay for a slightly above-average bottom pair defenseman. |

If NJ did move Parise's rights, what would you guys as fans be happy with in return?
I guess the biggest thing for me would be to find a center to go with Kovy so the top line is more or less set. Slide Henrique to wing since I think JJ is better at faceoffs, but i could be wrong about that. |

Why isn't Henrique good enough to be Kovy's center? |

A 2nd round draft pick I guess if we had to move him. Don't see that happening though. I see Josefson being a good center for Kovy eventually. Kid has some serious speed and could be a decent playmaker. Henrique can play with Kovy too, he is a legit top 6 center. Center is not a position we need help at, wing is a bigger concern to me. |

He played in our top 4 this year and we made it to the finals...He is a solid D man that can play 20 minutes shutting down the opposition's top line. 3rd pairing D men don't do that. |

What I want to see next year:
Parise-Zajac-Kovalchuk
Elias-Henrique-Zubrus
Tedenby-JJ-Clarkson
Carter-Gionta-Bernier/AHLer
Don't think we need to change much. Keep the third line spot open. Let Tedenby, Pesonen, Bernier, or even Carter/Gio battle it out for that spot. Of course, top nine can be moved around for ideal match-ups, or we can sign a UFA like Whitney or a bottom six guy. As for defense, stay the same, let Salvador go. Keep options open for a young guy to potentially step into a starting role, otherwise, just sign Taormina/Harrold to a two-way deal and have them be you seventh defensemen. Then, goaltending is Marty/Hedberg or Marty/Harding or Marty/Gustavsson. Fill Marty's back-up with a UFA.
By the way, a potential guy we forgot is Justin Peters out of Carolina. |

In mid-November, it was Henrique-Elias-Carter-Mills.
We even had Zalewski play a third line role, I actually didn't think he was that bad. I liked him. |

Agreed. If we are looking good come playoff time and there are holes fill them the best we can then. If teddy isn't working out, make a midseason trade. |

Did you even read anything else? I said move the top nine around however you like. Tedenby's spot could either be him, Pesonen, or a UFA, too. |

lines and players and contracts and cap hits and trades and draft picks.
we were just 1 game 6 away from a game 7.. from a shot at the Cup. and we got hit with a mockery of hockey. we were met by a missed call, then a harshly judged call, then a play for the other team.. all orchestrated by the officials. Then Bettman's dramatic speach for LA.
I'm still sick that we got that close and had it lost through such detestable circumstances. |

Since Winni is downgrading at both positions (Kane >>> Dubi, Bogo > Del Z) You're going to have to add a lot more than one of those prospects and a 1st. - clarkysduster
See what I said above.
Miller is a 1st round pick, Thomas is a 2nd round pick, a 1st is a 1st. So it's Dubi, DZ, two 1sts, and a 2nd for Kane and Bogosian.
And if it takes more, so be it. Still better than giving up all our assets to pay a 70 point player like a 90 point player. |

Jeez, no one likes a good troll anymore. Obviously I think the Jackets are asking a bit much for him, and not even Sather is stupid enough to trade Kreider away..
I'm all for Nash getting a chance on a team that actually gives him a shot at winning.. remember I live in South Florida and am a Heat fan, so I defended Lebron for leaving the Cavs. Nash has no ego, I was kidding. My God people.. lighten up. - Panthers88
