Hickey was a #4 overall pick, so he could help bolster the devils d, which could use a bit of that. Also Bernier could be the next Marty. Probably not, but Bernier is French Canadian.

Hickey just ain't gonna do it. You'll have to sweeten that pot a little. They need someone who will step in right away. Bernier as good as he is won't be seen for a couple seasons until Marty goes the way of the dodo...

So the obvious is that JVR is on the table.. and so is Bobz...

Its not about needing, its about who can take him back. Teams like carolina, ducks, colorado, panthers, minnesota, nashville, islaners, ottawa, jets i assume would ALL have interest and have the cap space and assets to trade for him but Nash will never go to any of those teams, probably the ducks more so.

Why would they have to trade ryan when they have so much cap space and they can keep all 4 of them if nash was acquired?

we have 11M in cap space son... plus if the new CBA approves the Amnesty Clause like it is heavily considered that it will.. we will most likely use it on Leino which would then give us 15M in cap space..

just saying...

Except it doesn't, he is on an over 35 contract so they take the full cap hit no matter what. He is screwing with the team not helping them.

Nashville has no forwards and im sure nash would rather play with getzlaf and perry and bobby ryan than in nashville with no one, whos he gunna play with radulov?

The asking price is 2 quality roster players and 2 prospects last I heard.

Just depends on what the new CBA brings...but the caps going up and with an owner determined to win who knows maybe they bury a player or two in the minors. One thing with Buffalos contracts is that they become trade friendly as they go on.

Watch for teams that need to hit the new floor (as I'm 100% certain this calc. will change somehow) to be friendly with the Sabres in a couple years...

there were a few reports and tweets earlier about Colorado and Buffalo in serious trade talks currently with Roy, Sekera, and Stastny all being confirmed as pieces in the puzzle.. the rest is unknown.

Behind closed doors Boston must be furious with him. Considering all they've done for him....

He really showed his true colors with this. I realize he's not taking a year off to smoke dope...but still. A contract he knowingly signed at his age is something he should live completely up to.

This isn't like the rules changed...he knew what he was getting himself into...
