Stick to stats, comparisons, long-winded posts about things you know very little about, and Ameros. Leave the funny stuff to others.

You don't trade 22-yr old superstars that can play 30 min a night. You just don't. Not even Gauthier...well...no...not even

I suspect this means Subban signs short term or gets a ridiculous number like 6 mil, maybe 5.5.
- habby

How is that even possible? Subban is not even close to Karlsson, in almost every conceivable way. And Karlsson's cap hit is 6.5/per. How can Subban get anywhere close to 6??

according to Cape Breton Bruins, it's pretty much done.

Rick Nash is a Bruin.

remember when Subban was going to be the next offensive defenseman force in the NHL and then Karlsson showed everyone how it's done?

lol!

Subban is not a $6 mil player...not even in Montreal. He may get $4 if he goes for a longer term that eats into some UFA years, but that would have to be what...a 5+ year deal?

Watching the TSN mock draft last night I suddenly realized how much I haven't missed Pierre McQuire in the least.

He suggested Subban and the 3rd for the first for all of those who only a couple of weeks ago were clamoring for him to be anointed GM of the Habs.

Galchenyuk and Subban for Yakupov.

Jesus.

Not every Dman can be an offensive juggernaught. But you ask around the playoff who is often the most valuable units on a successful team and its almost always the nice, reliable two way guys on the back end who can make that first pass, and can play 26 minutes a night, and can get down and block shots and can shut down the other teams top guys. You never win if you don't have these guys regardless of how many fancy forwards you have at your disposal.

Murray will be taken #2 IMO anyway so its probably a moot point. Habs will end up with Galchenyuk or Forsberg an in no way is that a bad thing either. Unless something drastic happens they will likely pick in the top #10 again and can shore up whatever holes they feel they have in terms of prospect depth at that time.

There's one buddy in my old keeper league who watches (frank)ing all hockey he can get and knows all his prospects. Year after year he pumps his chest right after drafting guys like Nino Niederreiter or Magnus Paajarvi, saying QPesque things like HIS SKATING IS OUT OF THIS WORLD.

And they suck at the NHL level.

- oniremosewa

Then the guy is QP-lite.

Mine can't even produce adequatly in the AHL

That's why it won't be long term.

And it's a pretty easy number when you look at all the comparables not just Karlsson, plus there's always a bump in Mtl, always.

He should sign a deal similar to Gorges. Maybe a little higher.

If he signs for more than 3 years, I fear it won't be under 5M.

3years 10M would have been my guess. 3 years 12M may be now.
