Pourquoi pas? J'hésitais entre lui, Gilles Proulx et Robert Gillet...

Mais là j'ai un flashback, ça se peut-tu que t'aies déjà eu cet avatard-là?

Not if we trade the 3rd and Subban for the 1st...then Gardiner and Schultz are Montreal-bound.

NOTHING! is worse than flipping channels late at night and seeing "Mémoire de Proulx"
- dt99999

I'd say seeing Proulx arguing with Mario Dumont at Dumont 360 after watching Un gars le soir is arguably as bad.

My Isles Rumor.. feel free to crush it..
Isles trade their 4th pick, Dehaan, and a 3rd round pick to Habs for
PK Subban and Gomez.

Habs have money to go after Suter, Parise, etc. They get a solid puck moving D-man prospect in Dehaan.. and a 3rd.
Isles get their D-man and also get closer to cap floor spending less (they need to get about 18 mill to floor.. Gomez cap hit is 7.4..only making 5.5.. next year makes 4.5 same cap hit.. let's face it until they have an Arena deal in place Wang is trying to limit his losses at this point).

There is my Rumor.. a little more feasable then "going hard after Jokinen". How many centers can one team have? Jt, Nielsen, Strome, Brock nelson, Reasoner, Bailey, etc. etc.

It's not completely unrealistic, though.

Not likely to happen, but still.

He forgot to drink kool-aid. As you say, not likely to happen, but maybe I'd do it.

I seem to remember that De Haan looks like a bit of a bust. If thats the case then it's not out of the question.

If the floor is at ~60 then teams losing money might be interested in cap space filler

It's not an unrealistic scenario. But it really isn't going to happen. And if it did, it wouldn't be because of the cap floor, even though that may be a byproduct of the trade.

Maybe, but i bet the Islanders are on his list of teams he will not accept a trade to.

Also, why not just overpay a useful player instead.

The thing is, I don't believe it is worth sacrificing a whole career of Subban in order to get rid of 2 years of Gomez.

It's not like they'll be contenders in the next two years, and they should wait for the new CBA before dumping contracts like that.

Helm's $8.5 million over 4 means, even after re-signing Abdelkader, the Red Wings will have roughly $20 million to pursue Suter, Parise, etc

If Gomez only had the one year left I think he would be tradable to a team like the Isles.

Is it possible for a team to lose one of the best players of all time and still get better?

high praise for Timmy but indeed. Only way Bruins improve is if Seguin and Rask take another step forward.
