But if Ryan Murray shines, let's blame the Habs!!!!

Meh. I don't worry about who they don't draft, because the draft is a crapshoot.

why was he traded after scoring 25 goals and 55 points in his 3rd year?

Fair point. I'm simply suggesting that if the talent level is considered about equal, then they should take the centre. If they don't draft the "franchise" centre, where exactly the (frank) do they think they're going to find one? Time has proven that big-name talent doesn't exactly flock to Montreal.

You obviously forget the awesome summer when Gainey signed 3 top tiered free agents

I just don't want long-term prospects. I was on the Murray bandwagon and I just read that Forsberg could also make the jump in the next 2 years. They're my favorite two of the bunch after Yakupov.

My wet dream is trading for Yakupov. I'd offer the 3rd overall and Beaulieu for the 1st and something (3rd round or else)

i think it needs to be a forward. there are just no impact forwards coming through as the depth chart stands now. Gallagher and Bournival should not be an organization's top forward prospects.
- DoubleDown

I agree. Picking 3rd you'd think this is a golden chance to get that centre.

Pfffff. Burkie would find a way to trade for 1st and 3rd without trading the 5th, Gardiner, Kessel, Phaneuf and g-bov.

Yeah I know. All NHL teams are currently in a kings ransom war to trade for Gardiner apparently.

It seems that list is different for everyone, which makes this draft such a crap shoot.

Thank god for him. Four in a row was enough to lose.
Jose Molina hit an absolute bomb off him though.
My favorite part of this start, was that his last pitch was a 98 MPH fastball blown by a good hitter.

Burke has already refused the Oilers' 1st and Eberle for Gardiner and 5th. Burkie thought the 5th was enough.

Everyone in Mtl, when talking about that draft, says they should have took Savard. They should have taken Coffey.
