If/when the All Star game is held in TO, I'm pretty sure you guys will vote Schenn in.

You know what they say about glass houses?

- Pecafan Fan

Should be the in the next couple years, but I don't know if Schenn gets in, but be ready for this;

Lupul - Grabovski - Kessel

Phaneuf - Gardiner

Reimer/Luongo

Starting lineup

If it goes Yakupov then Forsberg is the pick him or Murray?

some blogger on this site has Yakupov going to the Habs at 3.
- DoubleDown

I had a dream about the Habs trading for the 1st overall and getting Yakupov. Not intersting at all but if it happens, YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST.

(frank), great (frank)ing idea. The guy just had his heart broken by a crooked league worried about Fagland, Que, rioting. Now you want to trade his ass.

I remember hearing on TV, a scout saying that some were scared he might choose to bolt to the KHL at some point.

yeah, risk you run with any Russian. but then look at Avstin. guy is nowhere near a job in the NHL and is still plugging away in the AHL. of course, maybe he has no offers from the KHL because he sucks.

The starting lineup is what gets voted in. Kopitar, Getzlaf, Doughty, Parise and Nash will all have career years in Toronto the year we hold the all-star game, they'll make it in no problem.

Parise - Kopitar - Kessel
Lupul - Getzlaf - Nash
Kulemin - Grabovski - Kadri
Frattin - Bozak - Brown

Phaneuf - Doughty
Suter - Schenn
Gardiner - Schultz

Luongo
Reimer

Can't wait until this team is assembled.

all depends on work ethic (unlike everyone else on this site, i know nothing about the prospects in the draft because i haven't been following them for 3 years). but guys like that, if they've got work ethic to go with their skill, they'll be fine in the NHL and have no need for the KHL. for guys like Radulov, the KHL is a no-brainer.

Nobody because he will be. They all are. But he told them to (frank) off when he was 16 and joined the CHL on the advice of Larionov to get drafted.

Seriously aside from Radulov how many "defectors" are actual NHL players? Filatov sucked and fled. Tikhonov sucked and fled. Frolov began to suck and fled. It isn't like there are 90 point skill guys choosing to stay. Prospects usually stay there until 20-22 but big deal, most aren't ready. We haven't had an OV, Malkin or any real star stay in Russia over the NHL. It's all bullpoop. Oh No! Kovalev is leaving? Yashin? OMG

im not saying the flight risk is 50-50. but even at 85-15... that's a lot to think about when you're drafting high.

but my point is that to be a star in the NHL you have to work. OV, Malkin, etc, these guys work hard and don't float by on talent. the KHL offers guys the opportunity to make money and be league stars without working hard. and if hockey isn't a passion, that's a good option for a player.
