Ok on the prospect level we did great NHL lever well that sucks. Problem is yeah prospect can look great in the other leagues but when they come up here and the dont perform then we have nothing. GArth should now turn his attention to the NHL level where winning actually matters

I have been a season ticket holder for a Loooong time. When they win 4 games in a row the place starts getting crowded. If they were a winning team they would sell 14,000 tickets.

I agree to an extent. The "If they were a winning team" part of the statement is where the problem lies. They would have to be consistently winning for that to happen, I just don't see that happening unless there are some drastic changes made. Including pizza man Capuano being fired.

A reall goalie and a couple of D-man would do wonders for this team. I could care less if Capuano or Al Arbour was the coach. If you don't have a top goalie in the NHL u are going to lose... a lot.

What "hockey site" has us in the top five? Last i checked we were middle tier according to THN? Where have we finished the last five years? Don't you think if you have picked in the top five for five years we should have shown at least a marginal rise in the standings?

True unfortunately I know a lot of die hards through out the year who dont even watch the team anymore cause they always say how sad it is to watch this go from the kings of the NHL to a laughing stock. It is sad how many die hards wont watch anymore

Just because we have more prospects then before and we were lucky enough to draft John Tavares does not mean we have shown progress. Picking in the top five for five years straight does not show progress for a "professional" sports team.

When we draft these kids they are only 18 years old. Just coming out of high school.

It takes 2 to 3 years for these kids to mature.

Unlike football where most of those guys are grown men already.

They kept building it up... then made a few trades, and they are on top of the world....

Chicago, and Pittsburgh were similar.

I do agree that Garth has to step it up and make some bigtime decisions this year.

like what? Pulled the goalie early?

Ken Hitchcock is one of the better coaches in the league. He did not have a good goalie in Philly or columbus and got fired. Goalie is a pretty big piece to the puzzle.
