In the really real world you can't ignore facts to support your opinion of Gagner.
- Starbuck

the fact is that he is inconsistant. he figures that out, he becomes a 2nd center on a good team, he doesnt, he is a third center on a good team. edm has settled for mediocrity for too long. expect better out of the team...

did you not say like 5 minutes ago he could have a 70 point season?
- DarcyTucker16

no.... I would love to see you post proof that I did.

I think Gagner's roll will be 50 point 2nd line center.

theres a reason a good portion of fans want gagner to leave... the other 3 produce so they can get away with it... gagner hasnt lived up to the cities expectations so they call for his head... its not that hard to figure out
- DarcyTucker16

WHY DOES NO ONE UNDERSTAND
Very few people want Gagner gone. He is however a tradeable asset who is not Hall, RNH, Eberle, or Yakupov/1st overall. Unless an upgrade is coming back 95% of fans will be happy to see Gagner in an Oiler jersey the next few years to see if he can reach his potential and become part of the core.

last seasons totals it did considering it was almost 20% of his entire production for that season
- DarcyTucker16

Easy to write off his big game and accept the huge slump he started the season in after getting injured.

Who's a consistent 2nd line C on a good team?

Just wondering who you had in mind as a comparable.

Trading him creates another big hole at 2C and I am tired of seeing Horcoff at 2C, Forget putting Lander, Belanger, or anyone else there. There is nobody in OKC can step up for 2C. I'd rather address the d-man situation rather than thinking of let's get another 2C when EDM has one right in front of them.

No I don't believe you, and why would I. When famous people party in excess it makes the news, as sad as it is. You are some guy on the internet, why believe you and not the gay bath house crap?

Who said anything about it being a sign of a break out season? The 8 point game never inflated his usual point totals.
- Starbuck

Actually there are many pro Gags fans that claimed last year was his breakout season and now claim this upcoming season will be his breakout... I know he was all we had esp when nuge went down... but he was playing with Hall and Eberle... its kind of a gift which he took advantage of obviously... as the 1st 3 months of this last season he could not find a place on this team... he was continually bounced cause there was no chemistry then when he got going that 8 point night definitely did not hurt his totals...

If you believe all the crap people tell you then you are going to be walked over for your whole life. People make poop up all the time to look and sound cool. I am willing to bet a couple of your friends saw Gagner and a couple buddies out one night and extremely exaggerated how drunk they were and people loved their story, so it became that they ALWAYS see them out stumbling around blackout drunk.

Edit: I'm not saying I think they are all saints and don't go out and get hammered like all 20-30+ year olds just that I don't believe it is as often as you think or make it out to be

Who really cares if kids party... they are 18 or so FFS... and are millionaires... does not change the fact that every guy in their late teens and beyond likes to have a drink or 10 and enjoy themselves... just cause they are oilers does not mean they cant be human...as long as they know when its game time its game time... If you think our kids are bad - how does nashville feel about what Kostitsyn and Radulov did???

This was a good list
Fillpula
Couture
Deharnais
Oreilly
Statsny
Legwand/Fischer (1 has to be lower)
Grabo
Stepan
Henrique
Hudler
KEsler
J. Staal
Lecavlier

for the most part.

I don't understand why you keep saying his "rep isn't good" maybe amougst the 18 - 25 party crowd it isn't good, but from everything I've heard/read he's got a great rep amoungst people that really matter.

i dont even know why this is the main argument... someone asked why his rep was bad... i said this is probably why... the real discussion is whether he would be classified as a good or average 2nd line center... i said average and on a stacked team would be a goode 3rd in the same way that staal on pit is a good 3rd... discuss

because the 18-25 see the person he actually is... and its fine to be like that if your putting up numbers like eberle,... but when your not meeting expectations set for you when you were drafted 6 then you need to take things more seriously

Ah, so you can party hard if you put up first line numbers, but not second line numbers.

And this is why no one that matters cares what the 18-25 year old group thinks.

which is what i said and is fine... but when you dont reach what people expect from you whether its a fair expectation or not and it comes out that your partying hard then people want you gone... hence richards and carter
