What do you think we could get from the Islanders for a package consisting of Komisarek, Connolly, Lombardi and Armstrong?

Zack Smith would be a good fit here in T.O., but I kinda doubt that a deal between Toronto and Ottawa is ever gonna be in the cards. It'd be a good fit for both clubs though.
- AnnGee44

The only way a trade between Tor & Ott gets done is if it fills a need for both teams. I think the Leafs could use Smith & the Sens could use Franson

Abbott played well for a lil guy. Lots of good players for a supporting cast, but no elite player to build them around yet. Kadri, Frattin and Colborne are the best we have, but they don't dominate.
- AnnGee44

That's the problem with the Leafs. We have allot of second tier players in the system, but no elite talent. What it is, is what it is. Kadri and Frattin are second or third line material. Colborne is still at least a year away. Many thought that he would be Grabovski's replacement on the second line. He still might be, but not anytime soon. Any of these above players should be looked at as an asset to move for either draft picks or to move up in the draft. Right now, only Gardiner could be considered an A prospect, in the whole operation.

Abbott has got some spunk, I want to see how McKegg, Ross, Devane, Carrick and Crescenzi do this year, if none can be sent back as an overager, also wonder if they give Ryan a look, he was buried in the ECHL.

Only way that gets done, is the ability of Burke to get rid of the unholy trinity of Armstrong, Connolly and Komiserek.

Pretty disapointed about Nicholls Leivo is very interesting.
- AdamFrench

Leivo is one of those sleeper picks who woke up last year, let's see if he continues it this coming season.

I think Kenny Ryan replaces Greg Scott next year (unless they bring Scott back)

Kegger replaces Phil Dupuis

Ross replaces either Rosehill or Kelsy Wilson

Carrick could replace Will Acton

I think Crescenzi and Devane play a year with the Royals

Your right, it would be too many players of that ilk but it's a guy like Smith who the Leafs need. Bummer the cash is tied up in guys those. I think Komi might be alright under Carlyle. In the end he may just be crap but it could of been the system he was playing in.

My prediction for Nash:

NYR: Gaborik, Dubinsky and a 1st & 2nd

or

SJ: Marleau, Havlat, Greiss, a 1st

Komi's useless.

We have other guys who have more to contribute than his over-paid ass. Franson, for example, stepped in when Komi broke his arm, and never gave up the spot. He pretty much does everything we could have asked of him,

He has a wicked release and always hits the net with authority

He doesn't get caught in no man's land

Even though he doesn't use his size as much as he should, I can't stand seeing Komi trying to make a big hit and throwing himself way out of position. It's not a freakin' video game

Percy and Broll cannot be on the Marlies.

I don't see how Devane isn't on the MArlies.

Crazy prediction here, Colborne recovers successfully from wrist surgery and makes the Leafs right out of camp.

You could be right and he makes it to the 3rd line. I hope it happens, because before he got hurt, he looked OK with the big team.
