bernier will cost high picks/prospects ...riemer and scrivens are under contract...this isn't rocket science.
- Barx

and neither are as good, or will ever be as good as bernier.

that's kind've how things work. if you want to improve an area.. you have to give up something typically.

it's not rocket science.

i said the level of potential between the two was nowhere near comparable. although, i do feel scrivens is at best an nhl backup someday. probably just opinion, but i've never seen anything to change my mind.

yann denis is a stud in the ahl to. anyone stacking him up against bernier?

- joel878

no but you cant write them off either... had you ever heard of tim thomas before the age of what? 32? theyre called late bloomers which isnt that uncommon for goalies... the position is so finicky in development that guys come late

just considering how we've built Boston's future core between Rask, Hamilton, Seguin is pretty depressing

It's a sick joke.

that's a bold statement, and predictions on goaltending might not be rocket science, because it's definitely not a science at all... the most unpredictable position in hockey I would say in terms of looking at potential

tim thomas was 1 in how many? people still go there?

i'm entitled to feel how i feel about scrivens until proven otherwise.. why would anyone want to bank on a 26 year old college signee, that's just made it to the point he's considered a big deal in the ahl. that's your right.

i'm pretty sure if you go through a list of starters in the nhl right now, post lock out.. the majority of them we're either starting.. or pushing for a starting job in the nhl by age 25..

Proof is in the numbers, age, and every single scouting report.

so berniers dozen games or so this year proves he is gonna be a starter?
if he comes cheap, sure, but I doubt he will and the Leafs simply can't be giving up anymore high picks . enough is enough

Luongo for Komi and Armstrong. Add a low draft pick on either side based on who wins the negotation.

can't say you're wrong.

can't say i agree with not having interest in talented youngsters because we're hell bent on one of reimer/scrivens saving the day in the future.

here we go again, let's toss aside more draft picks........don't you get tired of this cycle or do you like watching players like seguin and rask play for other teams?

bernier has won almost every single championship he's ever played for. he's a proven winner.

reimer has had flashes, scrivens has shown really nothing.

it has little to do with berniers dozen games or so this year..

don't be a drama queen.

no one is trading the 2nd overall draft pick, or a blue chip prospect for bernier..

there's obviously a sense of realism required here..

nobody is banking on him for anything more than being a legitimate back-up who may still have starter potential.
but he and reimer are adequate without giving away more youth/picks/prospects to attain yet another unproven commodity.

I don't think Burke is inquiring... at least not yet.

Adds a certain air of mystery to every statement, that ending

like I said, if he can be had for cheap, sure...but that is simply not realistic, what sense does that make for the Kings?
if lindback can get you two 2nds and a 3rd, Bernier will garner more.
