Leafs dont have a number 1 goalie or number 1 centre, kind of sounds like columbus to me |

Its the goalie situation that would probably kill that deal. We would have to toss giguere into the deal so jackets have someone to be tendy for them this season. I am sure they would want Pickard as well. Really arent the solutions to columbus's goalie problems. |

Its Howson I believe in CBJ, and Nash's NTC would probably come into play with any potential Avs deal for him. - LeafsDeals

as far as i know, the rangers offer does not include a goalie...
as the jackets are in a full rebuild right now, any goalie will do...i'm sure jax fans would understand |

I actually really like that deal for buffalo. Takes the pressure off Cody Hodgson in his second year. Not sure I like Roy in Colorado. I think you should continue turning o'reilly into a staal mold. Maybe grab another team in the mix that can take Roy and give you guys a solid third line centre and another pick or prospect.
Maybe
To buffalo: statsny
To Colorado: sekera, 12th overall, and Brandon sutter
To Carolina: Roy and the 2013 second rounder from Colorado
Just an example. Carolina might not like giving up sutter but would av fans be willing to give away one of your defensive prospects instead?
Just a thought for a trade.

As a Sabres fan.....
HELLLLLLLLL NO!!!
A lot of ppl here are sick of Roy, and after having a down year (44pts) I get it
But in the 5 seasons prior to that,
Roy averaged .908ppg
That's the equivalent to 75 points
That 50-60points u think Roy is capable of is definitely a low-ball estimate
Even if you include last season (which I think was a fluke)....
He's still at an average of 69points per full season
And he's only missed significant time once, so he's not injury prone
So why would we even deal Roy for Stastny straight up?!!!!
Stastny has 2.6mil MORE of a cap hit...
And for all this "stastny is a #1 center" talk...
Are u freaking kidding me?!!!
He's not the #1 on his own team!!! Which is presumably why he's available
Btw,
Stastny's ppg.... ONLY .88 (72pounts per full season)
However, stastny has had TWO down seasons in a row...
I'm not willing to trade a player who produces the same (or better),
At a cheaper cap hit,
Plus Sekera (who I think had decent trade value now),
AND
a 1st round pick,
To find out if Stastny's two underperforming seasons are the start of a trend or if he MIGHT bounce back
No thank you
And one more thing...
over the same time span stastny has missed MORE time to injury!!! |

Col very well could sign some big UFA but Suter nor Parise have expressed no desire to play in our division. - VANTEL
Parise hasn't, but Suter said he wants to stay in the west. |

how about you add Duchene if you want ennis |

No thanks. The AVS really don't need any more small forwards or mediocre defensemen (and I don't mean to insult Buffalo...we just have a very mediocre D as it is).
As for the draft pick, well, the AVS felt comfortable trading their pick to Washington because they felt this was a weak draft class. |

I'd agree with that, we just need to build through the draft with the picks we have and add through free agency We've done enough trades recently. Now isn't really the time in the re-build for them. |

We are pretty good on D-men as well,
Would you do Vanek, Kaleta, 21st overall, for Stastny and Mueller? I can personally vouch that his coconut is ok. - DDM-Coga
Nope. Kaleta is a fan favourite and trading vanek in a deal for stastny is pointless since the only real reason I'd want Stastny is so he could help Vanek. I like Mueller but not that much. |

Disagree, Avs have a lot of core pieces in place right now that columbus doesnt, our backend is more solidified with Varly in net, Johnson, Barrie, Elliott on the blue line - DDM-Coga
Dont forget about Duncan Seimens, you think he has a good shot at making the roster this season? Or maybe even hopefully playing a few games here and there? |

Ridiculous no way in hell would I take that trade.
Teams better offer younger assets than that in a trade market that IS NOT EXACTLY SATURATED WITH TOP 6 CENTERS.
I really don't care what you think of Stastny.. Any team needing a center is going to get bent the F* over. Because guess what? We roll three scoring lines SO Stastny's contract is not an issue. Thanks for playing GO HOME and come back with a better offer. |

Not this season, He had his concussion and missed a good chunk of time. Would rather see him be healthy and get major ice time down on the farm then bring him up now and fight for bottom pairing minutes, too many contracts in front of him. |
