ahhh right totally forgot about hossa good call there
but doug weight and recchi were dinosaurs at that point in their careers (recchi was 35 and weight was old too)
bill guerin filled more of a "role" type void there
im talking like a guy that was brought in specifically to bring in like 70 pts of production a year
anyone else? im stumped |

Well without Weight and Recchi, Carolina doesn't win the cup and Guerin was a major reason Pittsburgh won the cup. Weight and Guerin were the main targets around the trade deadline too.
Recchi might've been old but he's won 2 cups post lockout.
Pronger trade to Anaheim
Rafalski UFA signing for Detroit. |

Only good thing about that contract is that he makes less than his cap hit.
3 mil this year and 2.5 mil the following 2. |

Would take him just for the playoffs. I think Robyn Regehr is the same way. People were dissapointed in him in the regular season and he got banged up a little bit, but I think the guy plays big in big games. Like Malone |

i think youre missing my point perhaps im not eing specific enough, i meant like a guy that was targeted to come in on the first line and tear it up. im talking intent for a ton of production. youre proving my point here...we should be targeting guys that can fill a specific role
we all get caught up (specifically myself) in going after the "sexy" target |

I did...but there were so many other moments in the season that could have made it not matter. Not going to hang him for it. |

Especially given the conditions. Granted he played eariler in the day, and did not deal with the mist/fog/haze. I was hoping Mcdowell would make that put on 18 but read that wrong all the way. |

how many of those guys had 70 pt years? like i specified. because chara and prongs are d men id give them a break as they def had major factors in their teams going all the way. that gives us 3 guys.
the rest of those guys are role guys dont kid yourself.
