How does it feel to be STILL looking up at the Yankees.
- SABRES 89

It's all good cuz I didn't think the Red Sox were gonna do much this season anyways.

Yankees pitching will be the death of them, they can't drive in runs unless they hit home runs and that is bad.

I disagree with you and I know the Sabres do too. They aren't impressed with the top of this years draft, too many question marks, players to risky. They'll move them for roster player(s) or just pick.
- Homer

I'd be shocked if these picks could be parlayed into a rostered #1 C via trade.

That being said, Brendan Gaunce (C) at #12, and Ulf Samuelson's kid with the 21st pick.

Package both 2nd rd'ers to move back into the bottom of rd.1 to take Subban (G).

i would think 1 or both 1sts would have to have a roster player or prospect attached at the very least to get a top center.

i've heard mixed reviews on gaunce and the negative ones don't sound good at all. he sounds kind of like a goon.

the sabres said they think this draft is really weak for goalie so they're either lying or not picking a goalie early.

....so eklund has gotten info from a source that has the Sabres in on Justin Schultz. Didn't see that coming, although I realize that it behooves Ek to put the Sabres in on everything.

The way I see it anyone that EK has us on you can rule out. Don't think he had got any Sabre rumor correct.

that would certainly be convenient for the right handed defenseman category that Homer said we might want to upgrade.

plus we'd have to trade for a forward then because we'd have a whole team of defensemen otherwise!

im aware of their plans as you already said that like a week ago or something...i was just saying i hoped that they would move up as opposed to going after someone else.

im obsessed with yakupov bc hes gonna be a 90 pt guy thats why i was hoping they would trade with them

and everyone before you yell at me im aware that this would never happen in a million years. AND hes a small wing and not a center, i get it.

here:

http://audio.wgr550.com/a...l-draft.htm?pageid=401026

you're better off going straight to the source...

devine called the russians "risky" and used that word a couple of times...

he also said this about moving up: "Well, there's two views of [moving up,]" he said, "first of all what's the price to move up and get that. If it's going to be your pick at 21 and you feel you're going to get a good player at 21, it's going to be hard to do...and, with all the players not distinguishing themselves, is it the year to move up? That's the question we're still asking ourselves."

kris baker of sabresprospects.com also was on gr...he puts yakupov in the top grouping and has a second tier group that could "expire" around 12 or 13...

http://audio.wgr550.com/a...of-the-buffalo-sabres.htm

the general consensus is that there's another, rather significant, drop off after 12 or 13

You might be onto something here. Dress 10 D-Men have lines 3 and 4 be all D men on the wings. Talk about low scoring.

no that would be the minnesota wild when lemaire was there and gaborik was their only scorer.

their offensive style was essentially tactical trench warfare.
for some reason i liked it a lot more when they did it then when the devils did it with lemaire.

Ive heard the Sabres don't like Gaunce...I want that Wilson kid...Ive seen him mocked to us at 12 and 21....most say 12 is too high but wont be there at 21.

I have a strong feeling Staal, Ryan Malone, and Douglas Murray will be Sabres.

can someone give me some examples where the marquis free agent/ big name traded player or #2 free agent of the summer came in and brought a team to cup victory in the first couple years? not being mouthy or anything im just curious i cant think of any

exclude mike richards from the kings bc he was dumped abruptly and wasnt being shopped around all over for a while. im talking like a highly touted guy

i feel like these types of guys just never get it done

kovalchuk, brad richards, etc (sure they went to the show or got close....close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades)
