TSN's latest draft rankings have Grigorenko listed as their #12 ranked player overall.

If he falls to around 7 or so... I'd think we'd be after him.



Otherwise, defense is probally the value as the top of this draft is loaded at defense.

A guy on Twitter who claims his source who knew of the Kassian/Hodgson deal before it went down claims the Sabres have a big deal on the table but won't give names. He did mention a smaller deal/rumor he was told about is Grabner from the Islanders being talked about by the Sabres. Just thought I'd pass it on.

I doubt it's him, better chance getting Ott then Clowe IMO.

Stars said they "would" move Ott, IMO Marleau goes before Clowe.

Grabner has become quite a good player, pretty sure he even kills penalties as well. Not completely one dimensional. I'd be surprised they'd be interested in parting with him. So let's play the game, what would it take hypothetically to get Grabner off the Island?

Now this was the purpose of my post. I honestly have no clue. He had 34 goals two years ago and 20 last year, is fast and kills penalties well. He would fill Boyes' spot on the team and hopefully be more productive. A 2nd round pick and a prospect?

If Darcy is gonna spend 6+ mil a year on a player and have to trade for him, it better be a bonafide stud player, not Statsny, Marleau, or a declining Thornton. Would rather them try for Getzlaf or Staal. I honeslty think Parise might be on the Sabres radar. I can see them pushing for Parise, and adding a center like Stoll. Maybe add a player like Ott in a trade involving Vanek. Also wouldnt wind trying to pry Bolland from CHI. It will be interesting, they seem poised to make a huge move. I hope he doesnt panic and make a stupid trade

Im a huge Grabner fan, but I fail to see where he's needed on this team. We need guys that play with their size, not sure how much he does that, plus they need CENTERS.

I think Stastny is a good player but he's not 6 mill good. I can't see Parise unless someone takes Vanek and good luck with that, maybe the Wild take a shot with Vanek. I think Marleau is pretty good just to much cash.

Well I think Parise might be Darcy's plan B if the big trade for a center doestn happen by draft day, which IMO it doesnt. I just dont see Marleau or Stastny being an option. They need a big physical lineup, If there was a way to pry Getz or Staal without grossly over paying id be all in.
