It got less n less... So bad that although he was on one of the top3 lines, there was actually 10 other forwards that got more ice time than him

I doubt they'd dump him for nothing
But maybe Adam n a 2nd?
Maybe they'd have interest in Sekera or Roy?

Not sure if we'd be a good fit as trade partners,
But I think it's more likely than not Stewart gets moved

That could be. But by giving him a 1 year deal he is still an RFA next year so they retain his rights. This could be a tryout year for him, or they could have checked off one box from their list moving into the offseason. Sign the easy contracts first. 2013-14 they have less than 2 lines signed and only 2 defenseman. It looks like they are keeping their options open, including Stewart.

Edit: They also ponied up $3 million. Pretty nice cake for a RFA. Not a bad show of faith

That sounds about right
I was so high on moving up for Galchenyuk bc it looked like he was gonna slip to somewhere between 5-7... To get him there woulda been an absolute steal... And not cost an arm & a leg to move up to that point

But now it looks like he's going to go in the top3
And it'll cost way too much to get us up to that point

With all the names I've heard lately possibly jumping up into the top10 though,
Some guys are gonna have to drop
There's always a surprise guy that falls for some reason

This year I could see Griegorenko slipping...

they got a 1st round winger last year, i'm thinking they go D or Center or both. the sabres really have no incentive to tip their hand atm because they don't know what the environment will be playerwise until the draft revs up. either way i'm super excited to see how this goes because worst case scenario we get two new prospects!
