That's not a surprise. I could put that and it would have merit.

If he'd take 3rd line center money, awesome. A safety valve for Hodgsons growing pains. |

We got Regehr 3 years after we initially wanted him... I could see it happening. |

Paul Hamilton just reported that Darcy said " he's making more calls for others team's players than he is receiving about his own."
Maybe because Sabres players have major flaws? |

Truth hurts...
I don't exactly think people are banging down the door for Roy, Sekera, Vanek, Adam, etc like they want to know about the availability of adding the likes of Staal, Nash, Stoll, Parise, Weber, and Suter. |

Just took this off the main Staal thread, but according to Pens beat writer Rob Rossi, hes hearing Carolina has offered Brandon Sutter, Justin Falk, the 8th pick and possibly another piece for Staal and could be willing to take on Paul Martin's contract
so what would we give up ? |

if we get a stud D man, play enroth more so miller has no excuses, and get a speedy rw'er for the third line with some pop then I would be ok with the team
even if flynn is the third line center instead of roy - homiedclown
What makes you think Flynn is anywhere near ready to play in the NHL? He played a few games for Roch then was getting scrtached in end of the season and the playoffs.

we do not have good trading pieces... the only guys we can trade for Staal are Vanek, Roy, Gerbe, Leino, Sekera, Regehr, Leopold, Weber, McNabb, Brennan, Adam, Whitmore, Pysysk, or the rights to guys like Armia, Catenacci, or Sundher.
I believe we have 2 picks in each of the first 3 rounds as well.

FYI, I would put as much stock in what Rossi is reporting as you would Ek. |

about buffalo not liking Gaunce (we need a center ) every one is saying he could be a captain some day ...the worst he could end up like is a Dave Bolland player

I would give up Vanek + the 21st pick for Staal. Talented centers are more valuable than trendy scoring, out of shape winger snipers. I'd even offer a talented prospect. |

I'm of the persuasion of keeping Staal and risk losing him for nothing but that is a great deal for the Pens. However I severely doubt Carolina would offer that. |
