Possibly. Though his little piece of journalism the other day was an embarrassment for sure. - HonkFortheGoose
I'm guessing he had to many Mich Ultra's the night before. |

I get what he was trying to do to a point, but from my standpoint, that's not the way to go about doing it. Does that make sense? |

If the Sabres ship Roy out and bring in a number one center, the forward lines could look like:
Vanek - #1 Center - Pominville
Stafford - Ennis - Foligno
Leino - Hodgson - Gerbe
Kaleta - #4 Center - McCormick
This lineup would seem to model three scoring lines and one energy shutdown line. I find it hard to have Gerbe as the toughest guy on that line; he's got great work ethic and a huge heart but I'd rather have a bigger power forward (like Evander Kane) on that line. From last season, to me it seems that Cody and Ville would have problems bodying up on a wet paper bag. |

Dk cause I didn't reid it. Had better poop to do on my day off combined with a hangover from the wedding the night before.

If that's our top line, I don't care as much about what the third line looks like. But, I don't see us getting that bonafide #1 center this year. The top guys really aren't available, and seldom are. |

What if we shipped Roy out for a really solid #3 checking center and assets on top of it, started Hodgson between Vanek and Pomminville and focused elsewhere for our roster upgrades?

No way. That sounds way too reasonable and realistic.
Top line will be Vanek-Marleau-Iginla |

I see him going to a Detroit or maybe back to the Rag's at a bargain basement last run at the Cup. |

I thought he liked it in Philly. I assumed he'd resign there. |

I think he still could, but it sounds like they are letting him hit the market and see what kind of offers are out there. He must want some bucks or else they would probably have a 1 year extension done. |

I have a feeling he'll be one of the later signers. Probably a few weeks into July. He'll be hoping something better will come around and it probably won't. He may have had a good season, but I still feel like there are a lot of question marks around his game. |

Ek's latest blog about Jagr and how many of the Flyers were asking for Jagr to be brought back next year during the exit interviews got me thinking.
How do the Exit Interviews work? Do the players have the freedom to say whatever they want or trash their team mates? Do GMs use this info to make decisions for roster, etc, based on personal likes/dislikes?
Maybe someone like Homer with the inside poop could shed some light on this...
Just wondering how the exit interviews would go with the Sabres talking about players they want shipped out (Roy)? Or what they hope to accomplish next year, or whatever.
It's hard to think that a Derek Roy can't hear what everyone is saying about him being a d-bag/alky/man-package inspector/party animal and not decide to change his ways.
Its also hard to imagine someone not saying to Vanek that the post-missed golden scoring opportunity/sucky baby routine/ facial grimace is not necessary. We know you missed. We know you make 7 million. We know you can't handle the pressure of that contract. And we accept you. |

If you offered him a better deal than anywhere else, he would take it IMO. |

I do as well. I think it makes more sense to do it that way. You have 2 very capable top lines with that. It's a lot easier to fill a 3rd line role than a 1st IMO. |

3 biggest holes IMO, aside from the inconsistency from Miller is a shut down D man that can log 25 minutes a game and a 3rd line center and rw'er
I am ok with ennis and coho as top 2 centerman if those voids are filled

Agreed 100%. I'd love Stoll, but not with the price tag he's gonna come with. |

I'd pay him Roy money if they are going to go after a RW'er to play on that line and bruise everyone and pop in 15 goals
of course they would have to move Roy |

I guess I'd be ok with that. I still don't know that I want to pay him that much though. |
