He wants long term at 4.5. I doubt Gillis would give a 5 year deal to him. - Scooby_Doo

Agreed. For some reason, the quality of posts on here have declined rapidly over the last year or so.
It seemed like previous offseason conversations were always based in reality, with people making rational arguments for how to improve the Canucks either via free agency, draft, or trade.
Now this place has become overrun with "how about we trade Edler, Schneider and Kesler for half the Columbus Blue Jackets".
I think it can mostly be attributed to having Esplen as the Vancouver blogger. With previous bloggers, they would always provoke conversation about issues related to the team (what should the Canucks do with this specific RFA, what is the number one offseason priority, etc). Now we just have Esplen and his garbage fantasy trade proposal blogs. Awful. - Brandon_Lee[/ |

It could be worse, we could be Toronto expecting to trade Komisarek, Schenn and their other overpaid garbage for Nash, Getzlaf et. al.

Ian brings insightful and thought provoking blogs here quite often, maybe not every blog, but it's easy to run out of that stuff in the offseason, and this offseason has already been pretty long. I appreciate that we have something new to discuss almost every day—sometimes it's great stuff, and other times it's just repetitive BS to pass the time.
The difference is that the previous bloggers would often go a while without posting a blog.
No offence, but you come off pretty whiny and ungrateful when you rip on someone who takes time to give us something to BS about, and you don't even pay for the services. If you don't like it, just go to another site.

I love the Leaf fans telling us we have to trade Lu to them for Komi.
There was a few of us on here a year and a half ago saying
Fire AV
Trade Bieksa
and Play Schneider.
Shiddy led the cheer, and a very few of us were on board. We were called every name you could imagine .If we only did it back then. |

Nobody Fuc*s with my core.
Twins.
Kesler.
Burrows.
Higgins.
Lappy.
Hansen.
Edler.
Bieska.
Hamhuis.
Booth needs to be given a full year before he's written off.
Same with Kassian.
Ballard needs the opportunity to play his correct position.
Enough with the retarded trade proposals.
Those who say Kesler needs to go should be shot.
That is all. Goodevening and goodnight. |

For calling Bieksa, Bieska?
Isn't Luongo part of the core? - Scooby_Doo
I'm so used to old man Cherry saying it like that, I didn't even notice.
Luongo is as long as he doesn't get traded, I'd say it's about 50-50 right now because Gillis probably has to settle for less than he wants if he pulls the trigger now. Most of us are expecting a draft day deal but I think he's going to wait until after free agency so he can deal with 1 or 2 teams that still desperately need a starter and get good value.
Just my two cents. |

I think he meant that it's too soon to give up on him and Booth. I sure hope he meant to say that!
And I'm one the very few who doesn't mind seeing Tanev get traded. Just don't see him as a point producer or being physical enough, not the kind of d-man I like. He's a very smart and smooth player, but I think a d-man needs to either put up the pts or be really solid defensively and he'll just be average at both or a little above average IMO. A nice bottom pairing guy, but nothing more IMO. |

I heard it's Toronto for Gardiner, Schenn and 1st. Will be announced at the draft. |

Please tell me your source isn't this Samjam kid. And Burke would get run out of TO if he made that trade. I'm not doubting your "source" but that's quite a lot for Luongo.
If it's Toronto I'm expecting something like a 2nd, decent prospect and one of Komisarek/Connolly/MacArther/Armstrong. |

Would be happy getting Schenn.
They could throw in rights to Kulemin for Raymond.

Heres the deal - Kane and Enstrom for Schneider and Raymond and a first..... - chompsey
Winnipeg has Pavelec, they don't need Schneider. If they needed a goalie that would be a decent trade, maybe a 2013 2nd as well or a prospect from Van. |
