Whoever the Flyers draft at #20 has no chance to make an impact next year. The player is going to need time to develop. Which I think you have made known over the previous days.

Most won't in my humble opinion I was thinking maybe 4 to 6 would have a legit shot at a roster but most will need 1 to 3 years to further develop.

Personally I'm fine with that, most won't do well when rushed and need the time but may payoff. It always seems like the Flyers have to find ones who can play & play now or they trade them withing a few years.

I hope they can try to remain patient with whomever they select

The Flyers are always going to be a team that spends to the cap and will make trades (picks included) to upgrade areas. Their not a small market team that has to rely on these draft choices. So I understand why their not patient when it comes to there picks. They are always in a win now mode and since they haven't won the cup since 76' I don't see it changing anytime soon. Would be nice if they would keep some picks and allow the players to develop, just not holding my breath on it.

this win now mode hasn't worked, it's why I keep wondering when they'll try the be patient approach.

Even then as long as Homer is here that would still continue.

I don't fully agree. Holmgren, IMO, would be open to being patient this summer if Snider was not in the picture.

I don't think that Richaards or Carter gets traded last summer if Snider was not the Chairman

Look, Bill is the main sorce, of course, but I do respect the other's views. I read their comment every day. they know what they are talking about
- FlyersFirst

Just because one them tells everyone else they are wrong doesn't mean he knows what he is talking. Generally, he is pretty unintelligent.

I can see him calming down a bit but just not constantly looking for the perfect "big" move.

Even a lot of that I think is partly driven by Snider's presence. Not that Homer lacks stones, but he knows Ed wants to win now

Snider is the main factor behind everything. I'm sure he tells Homer what the team needs and then its his job to go out and get it. Homer has his few pieces he likes to add but it seems like Big Daddy Ed lets it be known about the "big fish" he wants to get.

Carle is much better then above average in his passing. He is a very good outlet passer and mover of the puck. As well as supplying consistent offense from the back end. And what Carle definitely excels at is Even Strength play. Carle is a #2 D man who can be paired with a legitimate #1 defenseman. Or play on a 2nd pairing.
- MJL

Yep, him and Kimmo have perfected the 3 foot drop pass at the red line on powerplay rushes that usually result in all momentum being screwed and a scoring chance for the other team. And that's not a knock on the players, but instead the coaching for allowing them to do it.

Big Daddy wished Richards & Carter all the best

Snider has a public image to uphold, he would look like an idiot if he bashed those two players, imo.
