I REALLY hope that someone Offer Sheets Ottawa's Karlsson to a huge contract that forces Ottawa to have to match it and Fcuk up their awesome salary cap system that they have going on right now..

Like a Thomas Vanek type salary cap fcuk up.!!

- JVince117

because darcy was an idiot and said straight up that he would match anything.. no team wants to lose that many 1st rounders on one player with that high of a salary.

I guess I dont see why paying those 3 guys close to 20M/yr is a problem for cap reasons or on ice product reasons.

If I gave you the option to sign those 3 players in Buffalo right now and it would cost 21M, I cant think of too many Sabre fans turning that one down.

Their offensive help is coming in the form of Emerson Etem on a rookie contract in the near future. They need a better #2 center option behind Getzlaf and everything else will take care of itself in filling up the depth.

- Gunner Staal

I do understand your side of the argument I really do.. but they have had those 3 guys there now for what 4 years?? and they have made the playoffs once i think? They need to retool their defense and get more support players.

I agree that those 3 players for 21M would be a good deal to almost every team.. but I also think that we have a better supporting cast then Anaheim does.

Foligno, Stafford, Ennis, Pommer > Blake, Selanne, Koivu, Cogliano, Hagman, Palmieri (selanne and koivu are not the same players they were before.. Teemu is still a monster but at 41 he has about 1 year left.. don't kill me for saying this)

Also.. I think that Miller>Hiller...

And also Ehrhoff, Myers, McNabb, Sekera, Brennan will be better 2-4 years from now than will Visnovsky, Beauchemin, Lydman, Sbisa, Fowler

not to mention Finley!!

just my opinion.

Stamkos was available for an offer sheet for quite a while and nobody did it, not sure why that would change with Karlsson.

I think it was a bit more than that. Don't forget, that GM went on to sign Penner afterwards. I think he picked a few teams that didn't have a lot of cap space at the time and decided he was gonna get one of their players if it killed him.

Palmieri and Fowler are going to be good players. They're very young. I'd love to have either of them wearing blue and gold.

I dont think Anaheim is as far off as you are making them to be. Last year was an aberration. Not sure why Hiller is better or worse than Miller. Hiller was great last year since recovering from Vertigo. Better contract too.

Honestly, I don't know that I would say that. They're different style players and both are going to have great careers. I loved that WJC team they played on. It was fantastic.

I really do not want this to turn into contract comparisons.. i was just saying player material alone..

It is just my opinion..

Anyone have a few trade ideas that they can actually see going down on Friday whether it be Sabres related or not.

He did. During the WJC. That's ok. I'd prefer people like him not to be in my city anyway.

that's one of the problems with team building, especially when it comes to free agency...other cities offer much more than buffalo

especially considering the icks we have now, it might have been worth the offer sheet. i would've liked to have offersheeted stamoks and been able to draft armia though, i'm not sure how that would've worked.
