Skating needs work

OHL Draft: Oshawa`s 1st round selection in 2010

NHL Status: Eligible in 2012

After being selected 3rd overall in the 2010 OHL Priority Selection by the Generals, Scott Laughton has done some big things. He had a fine rookie season for the Generals a year ago, he was an Assistant Captain on Ontario’s Gold Medal winning Under-17 team last Christmas and he scored the game winning goal for Canada in the Gold Medal game at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Under-18 Tournament this past August. Look for the aggressive two-way centre to have a big season as he is considered a top prospect for the 2012 NHL Entry Draft next June.

Favourites:

NHL Team: Toronto Maple Leafs

Player: Mike Richards

Movie: The Other Guys

Band/Singer: Carrie Underwood

TV Show: Sportscentre

Colour: Red

Video Game: NHL 11

I really want us to stay away from Stoll... he is a 2nd/3rd line center who will get paid like a 1st line center by some schmuck team..

I'm just teasing...

We were talking about trades yesterday and some people say I came up with a pretty decent one... lemme know what you think since your a straight edge guy...

Sabres Get: F Evander Kane, 9th overall pick, and 2013 4th rounder

Jets Get: F Thomas Vanek, D TJ Brennan, C Luke Adam, 12th overall pick, and 2013 3rd round pick.

Kane is an RFA.. Vanek has 2 years left on his deal.

- JVince117

I think there are a couple factors at play with anything regarding Evander Kane, has he rubbed his team the wrong way enough for them to consider trading him? And what do they want in return for an asset like him? Personally I dont think taking on Vanek is something they would want to do. Vanek is 8 years older and Kane is still only 20. I would be surprised if the Jets moved Kane. Its not that your deal is lopsided one way or the other with talent, its just that I dont think Vanek for Kane would be something the Jets would explore.

I dont think anyone will pay him 5+ mil like a 1st liner. He showed exactly who he was inn the playoffs, an asset to any team that is a playoff team. I bet he gets offered around 3.5 to 4 mil per, and will have those kind of offers from 5 or 6 teams, 1 of them being the Sabres. I dont really want him for 4 mil. I would be fine with 3 years 11mil though.

appreciate it... I think the fact that the PEG doesn't exactly have a pipeline of youth coming up especially in the Center department (Luke Adam) and that 2 of their top 4 D-men will be UFAs after next year as well could sway their decision. Only Buff and Stuart will be back with Bogosian being an RFA.

Stoll only showed up for games during the playoffs... we don't need Leino V2.0.

I would much rather allocate more than 25% of our free salary cap somewhere else. Prust, Konopka, or Parros to be more precise for our bottom 6.

Kane is listed as a center (not sure how often he has that role, I know he played wing). To me Luke Adam has zero value. He is a dime a dozen fringe guy much like Eric Tangradi is in Pittsburgh. Some people will always hold out hope that they will amount to something but it will most likely only be shown in quick glimpses and dissipate.

I dont agree with that. Any Kings games I watched in the regular season I was impressed with how he played the game. He didnt have a good year for the stat sheet but he makes an impact, if Leino isnt on the scoresheet there is a great chance that he is a ghost out there.

Nope, just dont let it be your team.

The key is to pick up guys like Stoll before their Cup winning run so you dont get the inflated prices.

I would love for it to be a team that is a rival of ours... let them take that much out of their salary for the next 3-4 years. Toronto... COME ON DOWN!!!

Literally "zero" value, probably not, but he has minimal value right now. Not sure what he has done to prove he has value. He stunk it up for the Amerks after being sent down. 27 games 4 goals and 9 assists. Not exactly going out of his way to show that he wants back in the NHL.

Im hoping the Rangers or Flyers trade for Rick Nash and upset the nice youth movement they both have going on.

Were better off keeping him and seeing if he can develope rather than him being a "throw In" prospect in a trade
