and i would be fine with that.. I wouldn't argue.. its just if I was starting a franchise today.. and it was an all out fantasy draft.. I would take the other guys ahead of Giroux because I think they have shown more talent for an extended period of time and with less around them.

I personally just think that Giroux has benefited from having guys like Richards, Carter, Hartnell, JVR, Gagne, Lupol, Knuble, and even Leino (53 pts).

However, he WAS almost traded there at that deadline. IIRC, the Flyers were the leading team to get him, but Florida idiotically didn't trade him. Then the Flyers traded for Pronger at the draft instead. Damn what ifs.
