No way should Pavelski go the other way in the Nash trade. He puts up just as many points, with half the salary, plays PK and PP and is the best faceoff taker in the league.
I'll stick with my original proposal but sweeten it a little
To CBJ: Niemi, Clowe, Demers and 2012 1st
To SJ: Nash, Mason, 2012 2nd
CBJ gets rid of Mason's contract, replaces him with Niemi, gets a top 6 forward and a potential top 4 defenseman while adding the number 17 pick in the draft.
SJ gets a premier powerforward who gets along with Thornton and who knows maybe Mason regains some of his former glory, if not we'll waive him or send him to the minors. - Hasek2theSharks
I like that deal for the Sharks. Frankly, I dont think adding Nash really makes us a better team, especially if it costs us Pavelski.
I'd rather see us pursue some younger talent and hang on to our 1st round pick. Trading away our young guys is starting to come back to bite us. I have a feeling Charlie Coyle is going to be at the least a top 6 forward. |

Marleau????? HAHHAAHHA it will be Pavs or Couture for Nash my dear
DW LOVES over spending in trades so I am all for SJ getting Nash.... - LA_Kings6720
If DW does one thing well, it's fleecing other teams in trades. The Heatley and Thornton deals were fantastic. However I will agree we overpaid for Burns.
The Havlat trade was a great one as well.
But personally, I don't even like that offer for us. Then again, I'm not a fan of any offers for Nash as I think we're better off using the cap space and assets elsewhere. |

I'm not sure I'd rather have Nash over Havlat honestly. If Havlat stays healthy, he's got loads of talent to work with at nearly 3 mil less per year of a cap hit.
Part of why I love the Heatley for Havlat trade was because of the cap relief. Not too mention Havlat turned out to be a more productive player.
Plus, Havlat's playoff experience helps too. As short and awful as our playoff run was this season, Havlat was one of the few who performed well. |

According to a well-placed source, Suter has a potential list of clubs he would be willing to talk to even if his rights were traded before July 1. Suter is represented by Neil Sheehy.
Alas, the Flyers are not one of them.
In fact, the source said, all of Suter's preferred destinations, should he leave the Predators, are in the Western Conference — not the East. Detroit is generally conceded to be his top choice.

You call that line up scary talented? I don't know about that. Have you seen Hejduk over the past couple years? He's really starting to show his age. I like Downie, but I don't think he's a second liner. O'Reily, Landeskog and Duchene are good and will continue to get better, but that line up in no way is "scary." Colorado is still a ways off. - hankthetank

I dont believe Howson is thinking he can get too lucky with Nash ,
I would do:
Nash
for
Niemi
Mitchell
Pavelsky
2nd rounder - Alexzanki
Not that it matters because my opinion will do nothing to effect the outcome, but I think that trade is way too much for the Sharks to give.
As I've stated before. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that DW doesn't trade for Nash. |

kovy was playing with a herniated disk, even missed game 2
if the flyers played a team in the 1st round that decided to play some D and a goalie that could stop a beachball do you really think he would have gotten all of those points? realistically
when he played the devils the only time he was pretty much effective was on the PP - dmarsden2988
You speak as though giroux didn't pile up points pretty much
all year long...hello.
Kovy and giroux are both top shelf but I'd take giroux |

Yeah and some leaf fans think we could trade Bozak, Connolly and Komisarek for the first overall pick.
Your trade is a little more reasonable though... |

You can have Komi for free buddy - wolfos412
As an Islander fan and a long islander I would not mind seeing Komi come home. Their top priority is a top pairing d-man (not Komi).. after they fill that need through draft, Trade or FA... I could see them taking on Komi for 5/6 d-man. especially if Leafs through in a pick to get rid of his sallary (3d or 4th). They need some attitude and grit on the back line. Hamonic is great but rest is pathetic and he would be a huge upgrade from the Eaton, Jurcina, Mottau, Staios crew we had out there last year. |
