It's been a long day at work and finding out that Stewart got signed is horrible news.

the highest i got was a major select team that had torres and ziggy on it. i didn't bring it up to brag i was just trying to explain that its not about me loving the guy, just think he's going to be good, then guys jump on you. There are a few guys in here that do that all the time. If it isn't their criticism they try to get you to argue over dumbness instead of the actual issue. my point is that this club continues to mis-judge talent.

Thats dumb too. I could see Kulemin straight up for Stewart, but why on earth would the Leafs trade the only young player they have outside of Kessel capable of being an elite offensive player? Memo to Leaf fans: Burke likes to keep guys in the minors. Not playing in the NHL by the age of 21 does not make a guy a bust. escpecially a guy as small as Kadri. He is going to be - at the worst - one of the best second line players in the league and has the potential to be a 100 point player. There are quite literally 10 guys in the league with hand like him.
- Jimmy_T

You are just the worst. Do you even watch hockey?
Kadri might be good, but will never put up 100 points. And at his worst he will be one of the best second line players in the league? You absolutely have no argumentative basis for that one.

I am not saying he is a bust either but he isn't even a ppg player on the Marlies how do you figure he puts up 100 points?

That is a straw man argument if I ever heard one. So what you are basically saying is that popular opinion is always right? That no one should ever dissent? That group-think does not exist? That one guys opinion doenst snowball until its accepted as a fact (think anything Steve Simmons writes and millions of parrots repeat)??

I could be wrong, (Im not) but it certainly isnt because a bunch of people disagreed with me.

- Jimmy_T

Listen, youre probably right...everyone does listen to me and follow suit because of my sheer brilliance...however, Connolly is half the player you describe him to be. You are describing him in his best year (73 17 48 65 +10) but he is a career -55 and average of 43pts.

Not Aminnes. He played at a high level.

Did I say that? Or did I say that you should at least think about?
Because you are wrong and it has nothing to do with popular opinion it has to do with Connolly making 4.5 million dollars, more than any of us will ever make to be a lazy player.

- maverickJ

His salary has absolutley nothing to do with the quality of his play. There is no logical relation from one to the other. Its not my money, its not yours and it isnt preventing us from getting better players, so I could care how much he gets paid. The point is: why do leaf fans choose to hate the guy on their team who is by far their best penalty killing forward?

That's your opinion. I was only joking around with that trade proposal. I think Kadri will be a 100 point player too.

Honestly, Im sure Connolly tries, but he just sucks.

He is what he is. A 35-45 point center who won't have a big impact on the game.

I don't dislike him because of his contract, I dislike him because he isn't that great of a player, imo

A rookie can do what he does.

I'm over the Nash thing. He's never really accomplished much, despite being on a poopty team.

Pass.

You keep saying this, yet the only evidence of this is your however biased appreciation for the man....after watching the guy all year, I can say with certainty that either you just dont want to be proven wrong, are related to the guy, or are trying to drive up the value of your signed Connolly jersey.

Well, when not playing hurt he actually has been a point per game player in the AHL and when he comes to the NHL he will be playing with better players. However, you are right, I suppose at worst he gets injured, quits hockey and gets a job as Carelton the bear['s understudy. He could totally fail, I must admit I was going too far in the opposite direction of the idiots who say hes a bust already. Your point is more than fair. However, he could put 100 points one day that is not outside the realm of possibility. Gary Leeman once scored 50 goals and had 95 points. Just saying.

"We've had discussions. I've talked to his agent, but those discussions will remain private and confidential," Howson said. "What I will say is we're looking to improve our team in any way possible and no player would be untouchable."

Johansen anyone?

That's the whole point. He's going to cost to much for what we get in return. Not that Toronto doesn't need help, just not from Nash.

Nash???? I want the 2nd Pick

although Nash would be good too. The only reason Nash hasnt accomplished anything is because he hasnt been given the oppourtunity

That doesn't happen in the NHL anymore though when was the last time a nobody score 100 points?

Realistically I expect Kadri to be a 80 point a season kind of guy at his ceiling or a 60 point kind of guy if has troubles making the gap and at worst he just can't make the jump.

I don't think BB gets the centre he wants unless its parise. The trades will cost a tonne, but minnesota says they will give the biggest offer. It's on sportsnet, but isn't that tempering?
