since playing hockey seems to be the criteria for placing value on an opinion then this bear knows more than the entire lot of us combined
EDIT: wtf is the ref doing with a stick? - Dozzer
Wondered if he scored a lot on Bryzgalov. |

Hey I didn't know that Grizzly Adams played hockey! |

And this affects the +/- how? - jbold
Simple
Someone on the PK will have a worse +/- than someone on the PP.....its pretty easy to understand. When youre on the PK and a goal is scored against you, you feel bad. Then you go and sit on the bench and continue to feel bad and get boo'ed at by fans. Then youre next shift, because you feel bad, play poorly and let another goal in which gets you a -1. Now someone on the PP who scored, will feel good about themselves and get cheared on by fans/teammates...they will then have more confidence and play better next shift and score again, giving them a +1.

I know the internet has ruined this expression, but I literally laughed out loud when i saw that (frank)in bear and the ref with a stick. I think he has the stick incase theres a fight. Its really hard to pull a bear off of a guy with just your bare hands. |

I am sorry, but you guys are wrong. Connolly only looks lazy because hes a bad (for the NHL) skater. He only has "no heart" because he is an over paid scapegoat on a losing team. The whole "no heart" thing is dumb. Just cause a guy doesnt fight or throw fits doesnt mean he doesnt care. The only reason people are hating on TC is because he give you 45 points when he has 70 point skill. So I get that he's over paid, I don't disagree. Its just you are basing his defensive accumen on a consensus perception that has nothing to do with reality. - Jimmy_T
No it was because he was lazy. Hey if every other person on here is disagreeing with you don't you think you should reflect on the subject?
Connolly is a horrible player no admirable qualities in his game anymore. |

The "overpayment" thing doesn't matter. We knew what we were getting, and most knew the risk in bringing him in. His contract is up, I wouldn't be surprised if he hangs his skates up for good by the end of the season. |

Actually, he gave us 36 points.
He's basically an Alex Semin at center. Just not as offensive. |

That's the key to the argument. He was helpful, but in the past. |

No Im basing my opinion on Connolly after having watched him play. Sorry, normally I can see others view points on players, but youre just out to lunch on Connolly...hes no good for this team. A guy with his "talent" and experience in the NHL should have a MUCH MUCH bigger influence on a young team like Toronto last year. He showed up for his 9-5 job, went home and had a beer. |

That is a straw man argument if I ever heard one. So what you are basically saying is that popular opinion is always right? That no one should ever dissent? That group-think does not exist? That one guys opinion doenst snowball until its accepted as a fact (think anything Steve Simmons writes and millions of parrots repeat)??
I could be wrong, (Im not) but it certainly isnt because a bunch of people disagreed with me. |

Yes, Idk if it is because of his injury problems or if he just has a sissy fit when he was demoted to the third line. |

My point was it would have been a better choice to keep Aulie. Dude, you seriously have issues. I come on here to discuss leafs stuff and the nhl, you seem to come on here to try to start arguments. I have no doubt i know way more than you, but its not because i played anywhere, it's because you don't actually say anything. you find someone to berate and do so, and then try to sound big by saying your "destroying" guys. Dude this is WOW, settle down. |

Thats dumb too. I could see Kulemin straight up for Stewart, but why on earth would the Leafs trade the only young player they have outside of Kessel capable of being an elite offensive player? Memo to Leaf fans: Burke likes to keep guys in the minors. Not playing in the NHL by the age of 21 does not make a guy a bust. escpecially a guy as small as Kadri. He is going to be - at the worst - one of the best second line players in the league and has the potential to be a 100 point player. There are quite literally 10 guys in the league with hand like him. |

Did I say that? Or did I say that you should at least think about?
Because you are wrong and it has nothing to do with popular opinion it has to do with Connolly making 4.5 million dollars, more than any of us will ever make to be a lazy player. |
