the only reason they might move him is that they couldnt afford his contract (with all the others), so they would be looking for cheap valuable assets back. Thats our 5th pick.

we couldnt throw together a pile of players we dont want, they would most likley cost more than Staal would anyways.

I am not sure we would get a better player with the 5th pick than Staal... Maybe, maybe not...

But I think its all mute anyways

But it could be used for legitimate 1# center or some other piece we need.
Staal could be a number 1 on the leafs...but is he a legit number 1? That I dont believe.
