His interviews are well scripted. He's obviously not going to say anything that makes him look bad during the interviews. But the risk is always there. Filatov, once upon a time, learned English and was super enthused to play in North America. He said all the right things and everybody was happy. Then they sent him down to the AHL because he wasn't ready. Off to Russia he went and then traded for a 3rd round pick.

Yeah you know what he is definitely going to be better.

No way Tampa Bay does that. Giving up a 2nd round pick AND Connolly to move up 5 spots? And all of that effort to take Faksa who they could probably get at 7th if they moved up 3 spots instead of 5? Plus, Connolly isn't even a center and neither is Reinhart.

They draft a center who can replace Lecav in a couple years, they get another solid defensemen in Franson and a possible number 1 goalie in Reimer. Perhaps a later 2nd round pick or a 3rd rounder.

Connolly can play center still so we get a possible 1C and another stud dman in Reinhart.

That team iced would land us Kinnon in next years draft as well.

No, it's a fact. Brett Connolly is a right winger. You can't just arbitrarily move wingers to center and say anybody can play center. If that was the case, Kessel would be a center. But he's not. And neither is Connolly.

Why would they trade a 6th overall pick, plus a 10th overall pick and a 2nd round pick for a 5th overall pick? And to pick Faksa? A player they could get by moving up fewer spots to get? Makes no sense.

Yzerman isn't thinking of ways to make the Leafs better because that's not his job. That trade doesn't help his team very much.

Fuk-it! It's bed time! We're down to the single digits, for days before the draft. By this time, next week, this site will be at a feverous pitch. It's been so long, since the Leafs had a top 5 pick, that HB will have to put another server online. So many Leaf fans, with no 1st rounder for nearly 3 years will do that. Now we get to watch Burke fuk-up and disappoint us again. Then a strike, then back to it, a year from now. At least we can all watch Julie, as she keeps us up to date on the Vermont Catamountes, who have just kicked off their season. Fuk, mabe I'll head up to the Green Mountain State and have a blast, on Lake Champlain. I can then send a message in a bottle, up to Montreal, to congratulate them on their new superstar, Grigorenko. They can send me some little red patches of cloth, so I can blow my nose and throw it in the trash. Riot on, hoodlums!
