it would be a gutsy move (personally i see faksa top ten easily) but if burke swung deals to make it happen and get both.. i'd be very pleased
- Dozzer

I think we could still get a good player at 10. 19 would be used for either Wilson, Gaunce, Dansk or Vasilevski (spelt wrong I'm aware). I'd like two solid players compared to a player who Leaf fans will put all their hopes and dreams into.

Yea... Kovalchuk? Ovechkin? They're not to shabby either, you know?

Volchenkov, Markov, Gonchar... Don't forget Kulemin, sure he had an off-year, but the guy never quits.

- Schenn-Sational!

Kovy looked disinterested this year, in the finals and semi finals. Ov had his minutes cut and was not much of a factor in the playoffs. He scored a few, but that's all he did.

He was injured lol..

He's had a herniated disc in his back since the Philly series.

Habs defense was absolutely terrible this year. We have 3 very good young prospects but nothing new for this season.

If Galchenyuk is available at #3 can you guys see a Schenn + #5 for #3 swap?

Your also forgetting something......Wilson is gone and Carlyle will have a better defensive system in place.

- PrinceLH

Heard that same story about Napoleon when he was hired.

"He coached San Jose to 1st on the PP and the PK"

"He preaches fitness more than Maurice"

Worked out great.

The prospect quality from 2 to 5 doesnt warrant anything more then a 3rd round pick.

Sign pa parenteau. Trade Kulemin
- jbold

Oh yeah, great plan. Sign and most likely overpay for the 29 year old, career AHLer who has his numbers inflated by playing with Tavares and trade the 26 year old 30 goal scorer who we drafted and developed ourselves.

Ov may have regressed a lot offensively, but he was also working harder on defense.

And something worth noting with both Yakupov and Grigorenko is that, unlike they 'typical russian' player, they both came over to the North American junior leagues.

It's really not worth it. Would be interesting to see if the Habs take a d-man instead.

I can only say this: If we can't move up, in the draft, wait and see who goes before us. When 4 comes along and someone is there that we may want, swing a deal with the Islanders. If the draft goes something like this:

Yakupov
Forsberg
Murray or Gregorenko

Then make your move with the Islanders. If it breaks down that Galchenyuk is gone before 4, then you make your deal to move down. Don't want Gregorenko, Forsberg or Dumba. Would rather have Reinhart or Faska then. 7 or 8 is your target and then you ask for a late 1st or a pair of seconds, to make that deal.

True, but I think both the Habs and Leafs want Galchenyuk. With the state of the Habs current defense, I could see them giving up on their man to a division rival, if they can upgrade their defense.

But then again, its Trevor Timmons. He may draft Faksa or that Finnish guy at #3. God only knows

Napoleon never won a Cup either. At least Burke and Carlyle are on the same page.

I'd deal Gunnarson or Franson.

And yea, I read that someone in the Habs organization was saying terovaenen(sp) was gonna go in the top-5

With the option of the KHL in their back pocket too.

I think Forsberg is going in the top 3, which would be you or the Blue jackets. Forsberg is going to be a solid player.

They need skill up front. They have Tinordi coming this year, so that will help them defensively.

Tampa is the closest that has two first rounders in between 10 and 20. Two solid players can be picked up there. Faksa in my eyes won't be a 1C. Just my opinion.
