Carter and Richards both have proven that all of these rumors and speculation that was said, some of which you bring up again here, was unfounded. Both, Richards especially, have shown that they are winners and top players. Richards has been the exact opposite of how you label him his entire career. Including this year in LA. - MJL

Like we don't know. Yeah. Carter and Richards won the Cup. The whole damn team won it too, don't forget. Frick and Frack didn't carry this team. That was Jon Quick, in my opinion.
Don't you have anything better to do?
For the masses- G and Briere tied for the playoff lead in goals |

NY being out on Parise opens the door even more for us should Homer opt to go hard after Parise.
I'd expect LA, Boston, and Minnesota to be the top competition. |

they did have a coaching change like the flyers did when they went to the finals, so there's some common ground there. the one outstanding aspect of the kings game that I took away from these playoffs was their breakout- that is an essential area for improvement next season. - isaiah520
The Kings had a fantastic breakout structure. Would really like to see the Flyers get to that level in that area. |

There seems to be a need to downplay and minimize the roles of Carter and Richards. While I agree that the 4 Kings players mentioned were the biggest reasons why. Adding Richards and Carter was huge for the Kings. And was absolutely a key component to the Kings Cup run. Look at the icetimes among Forwards and the situations in which they were used. Adding Richards, and especially Carter later, changed the entire dynamic of the team. And allowed players like Stoll and some of the other players to be placed in a proper role that they're better suited for. That has been by far an overlooked reason for why the Kings were so successful. No team wins a Cup with one line. Assign whatever number you want to Richards/Carter/Penner. That's a top line and a very good one. And very important to the Kings. - MJL
You are completely right MJL. Everyone is trying to downplay their role, like the Flyers owe anyone an explanation for the moves they made. Instead of dancing around the truth, why don't we go right to it. By all accounts Carter and Richards had become the equivalent of douche bag "trust fund babies", who divided the lockeroom, drew the ire of two well respected players in Kimmo and Pronger, were potentially bad influences on young Flyers like Giroux, were surly when asked to participate in fan functions, and disliked the Coach to the point of no communication due to dry island and him replacing Stevens. Richards by the end of last year looked like he had no interest in working hard anymore. They both needed a wake up call and I commend the Flyers on giving it to them... and now it has worked out for both (they have a Cup and we have a future and cap space). That's all that needs to be said.

As in weapons such as automatic rifles or shooting a puck? |

Amen to that!I doubt they would have made the playoffs with those two here. Hope the kings know what they are in for next year. I dont see those two working hard to win it again. |

Well thanks for agreeing with me. I personally don't feel any of the issues you mentioned are true. I beleive that it's all manufactured BS in my opinion. And this year proved that even further as to the character of Richards and Carter as players. |

The last year here it was evident on ice the lack of effort those two were giving during games. |

I think that's pretty clear.
Sure, Quick, Kopitar, Brown and Doughty were huge in the playoffs, but to say that Carter and Richards "weren't central parts" given their production and all of the intangibles that they being to the table is laughable.
Flyers fans are in denial about the major roles that recent and former Flyers contributed to the Kings' ultimate success. In a word, jealous.
Just about everyone was saying what a (frank)in' genius Holmgren was after Philly knocked out Pittsburgh in the first round... Is ANYBODY saying that now?
To those of you who can only respond with a weak anti-Leafs comment, this isn't about that at all! Try to keep up and stay on topic... Carter... Richards... Kings... Kicked a$$.... S-t-a-n-l-e-y C-u-p... - As_I_See_It
Where have you seen anyone say that Homer was wrong?? All that has been said is now it isn't a complete steal like it was say in March.

Deroit is a possbility, but I really do feel as though they will get Semin. Just seems like the perfect fit.
Probably Suter too. |
