Did he all of a sudden become whiny? Look there was some situations with the media that Ricahrds could have handled better. But there is no doubt that some writers, Carchidi in particular, had a personal issue with Richards. And Richards in return. And with the nonsense that was written, I don't blame Richards. - MJL
He sure came off whiny in interviews. I thought he sounded whiny. I'm not a fan of Carchidi's writing and it does seem unprofessional to call a player names in an article, but I don't think he was making things up.

I think Carchidi definitely had a personal issue and an agenda.
He most likely can't but you are innocent until proven guilty therefore it is incumbent on the accuser to provide said proof. - JoeRussomanno
That is in the court of law. In the court of public opinion there is no such thing as innocent until proven guilty. If it was just random writers, or an occasional fan saying they were, it would be one thing. When another player mocks them by snorting coke off a stick.... thats pretty damning...

yes but without sufficient evidence you are just defaming the guy's character and presenting yourself as a subjective critic as opposed to an objective one which has more credibility.
Edit: players mock each other all the time especially in the playoffs doesn't make anything a fact.

I was stating my opinion i dont care if thats what you want to believe...im not debating the issue but when someone(MJL) asks me a million times if i thought there was a drug problem i answered them " yes thats what i think". I didnt say i know for sure because i was their coke dealer.... As taboo as it might be to think those two knuckleheads were on drugs thats what i think....
Also in order to disprove me you would have to have evidence that they 100% never tried any illegal substances... good luck proving that.

give me sufficient evidence that they didnt - Philly1980
we can play that game with everyone and that is totally unfair. There is nothing credible to say they were and to do so and then ask for evidence to the contrary is bogus.

They mock players based somewhat in truth... and objectively speaking, it is more likely then not that when hanging in the scene Richards and Carter are known to have frequented, that certain drugs tend to "pop" up. I know. I have been in that crowd, and participated in...well.... Lets just say I find it more likely they were involded in something. I'm not saying they are addicts, or that it's an everyday thing for them.... but most rumors are founded in some kind of truth... except maybe the ones you find on HB..

u don't have to go home but I can't sit here and stoop to the level of accusing those two guys of drug use when I have seen absolutely nothing to make me think otherwise. THere is evidence for a great many things but drug use imo and it should be pretty clear is way out of the question.

HUH!? how do you know they mock players based in truth? Hanging in what scene? the night scene? A lot of athletes hang in that scene, hardly enough to go an say they are using drugs. I find that to be completely ridiculous. To start indicting people based on hearsay (rumors) is bullpoop. I do believe there were off ice issues. Such as being disruptive in the locker room that's been reported on by credible journalists, but I have seen nothing credible about drug use. An opposing player mocking one guy is a far cry from evidence.

Jason Garrison and the graduation of Testwuide or the signing of Ponikarovsky or Travis Moen.
Shut up about Richards and Carter. Seriously. No one (frank)ing cares anymore. Its (frank)ing egyptian mummy old at this old. - mochoson
oh well excuse us. Don't have to be so condescending. They were the faces of our franchise until june of last year and just hoisted the cup. It is actually pretty relevant considering that they were mentioned in the blog just this very day by the blog writer and not those guys you mentioned so there But it is old and I would appreciate some common courtesy other than shut up.
