I don't give a poop about it. You're right, it doesn't affect me.
But I hate how we are being portraid (sp?? is it even a word???) in the media.

- Habssuperfan77

I hate both sides of the media generalization too. I hate all how it's handled by the government because it's just getting worse for everybody, policemen included.

I disagree with anarchy but please. Saying Montreal is a dangerous city to visit is really (frank)ing stupid.
- oniremosewa

I agree, but because of the "anarchy", out of towners refused to come to the week festivities of the F1 that helps our province with a good revenue.

either way as I said, right now it doesn't affect me one bit.
I just hope it gets resolved quick cause I can only imagine how well the "students" can disrupt this provinces' other Cash grab coming up.....the Jazz fest!

Seems Timmins is more inclined to take Forsberg over Grigs...

I think Columbus picks Galchenyuk, sadly.

- hon_hon_hon

That is because Timmins has an extra chromosome.

When a big event comes here such as the F1 race, and we don't sellout the tickets as we do every year, and people say the reason they don;t wanna come is because of the potential "danger" from the protesters........I believe that puts us the stupid category.

Then again, I have been in that category all my life.....so I may be a little biased.

- Habssuperfan77

You can read french right?

Go read this.

http://blogues.lapresse.c...blamez-pas-les-etudiants/

For the anglos, it pretty much means that usually when there's an american F1 race held the same year as a Canadian one, they sell less tickets at the GP historically.

dude I dont know the first thing about whats going on in Quebec. I like making blanket statements with little or no facts to provide some lol's and slither through another day.

In my early 20's I used to get fired up about politics and issues until I realized that both sides are usually (frank)ed and have self serving agendas so I decided to be blissfully ignorant and spend whatever time I have on this earth lol'ing and slithering through another day.

whoa whoa whoa. Yan is referring to corruption in the government etc., and that's fine. he's right. but the students are NOT protesting about government corruption. not in the slightest. i've been watching the local coverage on TVA the past month and i don't feel they're trying to alter the message at all. they're just showing this poop, that's it. again, i agree with Yan that there are issues here and maybe this brings them to the forefront, but i see these red-square-wearing (frank)ers every day. trust me--these kids are not out to solve the province's/country's problems. this is a cause celebre in Montreal, nothing more.

I disagree. While I can't stand obsessive and paranoiac red-square freaks who see the evil in everything, the province is waking up from a long comma and it comes with a bit of chaos, but damn. Europe has been laughing at us for years for being sheeps, and now there's a movement against an extraordinarely retarded and corrupted government.

Read a bit more about international news and right now, WE are looking really stupid for other reasons than that. How can a big country like us can fail and give the finger to Kyoto is just an example.

- oniremosewa

States had no problem with doing it.

the government is corrupt and stupid that is a fact but what's going on right now is a disgrace. the problem is similar to what plagued Occupy whatever. nobody knows what these people want anymore therefore there's no solution.

it started out as tuition fees, then it became anti-corruption, then it became anti-capitalism, nobody know what the (frank) the people in the street want anymore.

what do they want? an election? a revolution? free school?

it's damned if you do and damned if you don't. If they want their way or the highway then organize a political party. This is how it works.

They need to announce elections soon, they can't let this go on. Elections, or that Charest resigns from being Prime Minister.

Kyoto is a mess. Fair enough if it applies to all countries but you can't impose environmental restrictions (and by the same suit economic ones) one certain countries and not on others and expect them to endorse it.

IMHO
the red-square and casserole movement ignited a spark in the province and gave a kick in the butt of 1, or 2 generations of people who were stagnated in cynism and desillusion. Now how it will turn out, recent history proves that nobody can predict it.

Je suis vraiment pas souvent en accord avec Khadir, mais son idée de PharmaQuébec est pas folle.

Pis contrairement avec l'éducation, ça va attirer un électorat plus vieux, qui consiste la majorité de la population votante.
