2 horrible dmen trying to teach the habs d prospects defense when they couldnt play it themselves?

Lefebvre was a very effective player.

The best players usually make lousy coaches.

your whole post? it makes no sense. Mike Babcock wasn't good enough to play in the NHL. so essentially, he was a crappier player than Lefebvre and Brisebois, we can assume. yet he's a good enough coach for the Detroit Red Wings.

Wayne Gretzky? decent player i'd say. Bryan Trottier? he was OK too i suppose. those 2? didn't make the greatest coaches.

so tell me, what's being a great NHLer have to do with being an effective coach?

- DoubleDown

I think what you are saying is that good player or not, all coaches should have to prove their worth in some sort of a smaller capacity before getting a shot at the NHL level. Brisebois will get to work behind the scenes; Lefebvre put in his time with the Avalanche and a pretty decent coaching staff over there.

They may turn out to be bust hires, but the risk isn't that big considering their assigned roles.

for argument's sake, i will agree that they made lousy NHL dmen. but history is littered with excellent coaches who simply weren't good enough to play in the NHL. Brisebois and Lefebvre, they may have sucked, but don't you think it's possible that they sucked because they lacked ability, not an understanding of how the game/position should be played?

Did Bertrand Raymond participate and call you a racist that should not even be considered a Hab Fan if your life depended on it? That Quebec should vote on a new referendum over your incredibly unacceptable racist comment on Quebec not being the best in the world at any particular subject?

(Before I get blasted, I'm not criticizing the fine people from the province of Quebec, I'm making fun of Bertrand Raymond specifically.)

Only from an outsider. Wehave huge potential in the goalie position in ROY and Bunz. We still have Danis (ahl goalie of the year) with NHL experiance. Do I Really have to go into our huge depth in defence. We will suck next year - 10 to 12 place but the following years it will be scary. We can sign the young guys cause all our big contracts - Horcoff, Khabby, ect will be coming off the books just in time for the prospects in the AHL to come up and succeed

Nice bait Etienne

Nothing at all.
Most of the 3/4 line bubble guys have been constantly coached about every aspect of the game. Those that learn what it takes had careers and those who had the interest after that turned to coaching.
