How come everyone says PAP is only good because of his time on JT's flank, but forget his production on the second line. No one ever points out the fact MM is the player he is.. because he plays on JT's line???

So it's OK for her to do an embarrassing job because it's for free and if the people that whine and complain(I'll never not find this amusing)start buying tickets it's OK for them to "Whine and complain"?

can you ever take a break on this? I don't see you offering your profound insights. What else is there to write at the moment? She's writing a blog daily, as an example, islanderspointblank is writing something every few days at best. This morning's submission was an ebay 1982 cup ring from a former scout, maybe you should go bash that blog instead.

dunham, i dont really know but ill assume the guys that deal with him on a daily basis believe so.

garth, i believe he has done a pretty good job of putting a team together. like i said before, i think this is his year to make moves but YES up until now, i think hes done well with sticking to his plan and using the limited resources he has available.

having said that, a ex-nhl player skill, whether its garth/dunham or not, has NOTHING to do with their coaching ability.

ask wayne gretzky how coaching worked out for him....Peter Laviolette played 10 years of hockey, he played 12 total games in the NHL, what does that say about his coaching ability?

- LetsGoIsles

I stated that in an earlier post, saying some former players can be/can not be good teachers/or coaches. only thing i was saying was both Snow an Dunham sucked as players, thats it, an maybe they are not coaches/teachers for this team, bc it seams like this team has regressed from the year before

I find this interesting too? The weird thing is i find myself questioning just how good he is even when i was impressed with his play especially towards the end last year. I have no idea why? On that note I still believe he should be signed, we can't afford to lose those points!
- Cptmjl

completely agreed. This team is not deep enough to lose one of their top scorers for nothing. I cannot believe snow would assume one of the kids could step in and replace that scoring. I hope he doesn't believe that grabner rebounding and okposo/bailey playing well at the end of the year means they can replace those points by committee. Even with PA we had a terrible offense over the season and it needs a big improvement.

The biggest thing with this MM v. PaP issue can't be answered.

My thing is I want to see PaP continue his short period of production AFTER he gets his bloated contract. My biggest question was whether MM would continue to flourish after getting paid, and not being an under-the-radar type and he emphatically answered that question.

Can PaP? We'll see. If he's still wearing our sweater, I certainly hope so.

but what boss would complain about their employee? if your boss is happy with you, he'll resign you; if he isnt happy with you, he doesnt have to put on a show, he just either fires you or doesnt resign you.
- LetsGoIsles

I agree with what you are saying but don't see how it has anything to do with my post? I was referring to fan reaction and non reaction. Back to your post, there seems to be a lot of people leaving on their own accord or some other sketchy way. To me and I'm guessing a lot of others its concerning. You are saying today(and yesterday) that these guys are getting fired which doesn't seem to be the case?

I agree but there may be another team who will pay more and being it's going to be his only big payday...
- Cptmjl

Of course there will be, especially when the Isles are still using the fair market value charts from the 80's. Even more reason he should have been traded at the deadline. When you are one of the cheapest if not cheapest team in the league you can't hope and pray he takes below market value to stay with your crappy franchise.

I hope so but I highly doubt it. Some team will over pay him. Someone always overpays UFA. PAP will be no different. He'll take the money and go. We''ll have a giant hole to fill. Sudda got something for him at the trade dead line. Anything is better than nothing.
This is the kind of situation that separates the Good GM'S from the Wanna Bee's.

But then again, how can you blame Snow? We were in that PLAYOFF PUSH MODE at the time!

Consistently the same story every year, hopefully this year he(Snow)pulls out of this tail spin and obviously flawed way of thinking.

Maybe they should offer a player 50,000,000 a season but don't tell him it was in Yen they were referring too

thats very true an valid points, 1 question i have is, do u think that PAP produced because he was giving the oppertunity of playing 1st line minutes, compared to the talent thats on the team now? I think the organization really wants Okoposo on that 1st line instead, but he hasnt been productive doing so

plus do u think that if PAP signed somewhere else, could he continue his production, or get 1st line minutes?

- Ur Not Me

Bingo. He hasn't been productive. If you look at his year-end numbers, they're not terrible, but not 1st line numbers. But the real problem with his numbers are that they are inflated by scoring bursts in the second half of seasons, when the team is out of the playoff picture. Look at the breakdown of his KO's numbers last year. He did squat during the time when the Isles could actually say they were in a playoff race. When they fell out, KO went on a tear. The same with Bailey and Grabs.

PAP was scoring from the drop of the puck in October. He produced when the team was in the playoff race, and when they were out of it. Until guys like KO, Bailey and Grabs start scoring and contributing when the team is in the playoff race, none of them should be considered first line players over a guy like PAP.

Not only that, she is always making mistakes and basically has no clue as to what she is talking about. Outside of JT & Hamonic there is nothing else. Even that arena host turned into a fat disgusting pig

My hopes for the off season:

PA Parenteau signed 4 years/$18m
Jason Garrison signed 4 years/$18m
Dylan Reese signed 2 years/$4m
Strome gets a 9 game trial as 2nd line center
Niederreiter starts in the AHL
Donovan starts the season in the NHL

Opening Night:

Moulson - Tavares - Parenteau
Grabner - Strome - Okposo
Bailey - Nielsen - Ullstrom
Martin - Reasoner - Cizikas

Hamonic - MacDonald
Garrison - Streit
Donovan - Reese

Teams will be falling over themeselves to overpay like always. The Cap should be going down not up. I'm not sure how a new labor deal gets done? These salaries are still way out of control. All this does not give a pass for the Isles to do the wrong thing.
