Yankees, Giants, Rangers and Knicks have been around allot longer then the rest of the teams, that's why they are more popular. Terms of Championships Yankees, Giants, Islanders and Devils top 4.
- hawks101010

being around longer doesnt mean they are more popular....it just means they are older.

i know its blasphemy to say this on a hockey site, but in NY, hockey is a DISTANT 4th favorite sport in terms of popularity.

if were talking about championships, its not a debate, the numbers are facts.

He'll be fine. Non elite 19 YOs shouldnt be in NHL. RT @DaveZLINY: @coreypronman How concerned should #isles fans be about Nino's struggles?

That was cool...they mix it up a bit too when defending their opinions of certain players. It's like us here, only they're actually informed and they don't rant as much. In fact, other than defending their opinions, it's nothing like us here.

Meanwhile, at the Islanders scouts' meeting:

I wouldn't go so far to say that its a distant 4th. Its tough to say if football or baseball are #1, but to be honest I don't think the NBA is a major attraction here anymore. As much as I hate the c0cksuckers, the Rag$ have an extremely loyal following and I rarely hear anybody talk about the Knicks. The only time all year I even heard about the Knicks is when Kang Fung Wok had a few good games. And its died down significantly as time went on and the novelty wore off. I am a huge Giants and Islanders fan. Baseball is like watching pain dry and basketball, well...lets be honest, rooting for convicts was never really my thing.

Agreed on your front office rankings.

However popularity wise, I do not think that the Devils would be ahead of the NYI if we were putting a respectable team out there. The Devils are always consistently good and draw garbage attendance. The Isles have consistently sucked and the attendance figures were not vastly different from NJ. Once the Isles climb back into decency again, the Devils will almost certainly hold third fiddle (even if they are playing great hockey). Wouldn't even be close. Rags>Isles>Devils popularity wise.

If you guys say you dont need a goalie, would:

1st Rounder 2012, Franson, and Holzer(NHL Ready) get the deal done for strome?

Streit Franson

Murray Dumba

Hamonic Katic

Extra: Holzer

Basically solidifying your D

- Mapleleafs_91

good offer..i would still pass..by the way katic sucks and is nothing more than a career ahl player

Out of all seriousness the Islanders need to pick a D man this year. We need defense desperately. If they pick a forward I will be really upset
- kasperrko

dmen in the top 5 is very risky..they don't develop like forwards...i'm ok with murray but if he is gone take the best forward
