According to BD, this wasn't a cost cutting move. Just simple parting of ways.

Free Agent under the radar the Isles could go after is Jiri Hudler. He could be a good veteran presence since he has played for a winner and he can score 25 goals on the 2nd line. Could be the type of guy that slips under the radar and might get a good offer from the Isles. Not too confident that Parenteau gets signed. That would be a terrible job by management if he walks for nothing.

BD doesn't work for the Islanders and has never shied away from being critical of them before. I don't have a reason to not believe him.
- eichiefs9

Seems to be now for some reason? When the Islanders seem to be at their nuttiness he is all of a sudden border line protective of Snow and Wang? Little strange to say the least.

Dunham is Garth's buddy. Having said this I'm not going to get bent out of shape in losing Suddsy. I will be more upset if we end up losing PA for nothing.

I unfollowed him on twitter because I was sick and tired of seeing pictures of him smoking cigars and the different beers he was drinking. He does know his stuff and is definitely a credible reporter, but I just don't share the same opinions as him. The cigars and booze was just the annoying kicker.

So it's OK for her to do an embarrassing job because it's for free and if the people that whine and complain(I'll never not find this amusing)start buying tickets it's OK for them to "Whine and complain"?

just seams like a cost-cutting move, why Suddsy an not Dunham parting ways,
when all i hear is Suddsy has done a good job,
plus im not a fan of BD,
or just maybe there too much B.S. in the isles organization, that Suddsy wanted out

- Ur Not Me

Sudsy is the reason all of our goalies drop to their knees 3 seconds before the shot comes. When you don't have reflexes like DiPietro used to before he got hurt, you simply can't play goal that way. For one example, once everyone in the league figured out that they had the entire top shelf to choose from, Montoya, who moves like a garbage truck in reverse, became a non-factor; we'd have been better off having a trash can in front of the net. I would have fired him a LONG time ago.

Ummmm, yeah! You dont find it a "loser" move to complain about the organization when you dont buy tickets/support the team?

Dunham and Snow are buddies. Played together at Maine and on the US Olympic team in 1994. No way Snow fires Dunham.

As far as defense, I'd like to see them go after Carle, Jackman, or Allen. I'd be OK with Salvador on a 1yr contract. I'd like to see PA back, but I'm not going to have a heart attack if he's not. Elliot Friedman said yesterday that he doesn't think the Isles want him back, which makes no sense to me. Unless maybe he's looking for an absurd amount of money.
- eichiefs9

PAP is looking to cash in on his season. He should be. Its probably the first and last big payday he's going to get. Based on comparables, PAP is going to ask for $4.5M/season. If the Islanders feel that's too much, they're not going to pay him. Considering their cap situation, I don't see why the Isles wouldn't give him a 4 year deal at $16M. Even a three-year deal at $12M wouldn't be bad.

Not really, especially when I'm speaking from experience. I've been a fan of this team my whole life and am considered a "complainer" on here. I refuse to buy tickets to this team until management shows a commitment to icing a competitive team. I have been a season ticket holder in the past but will not commit to buying tickets until our owner and GM commit to winning, I see nothing wrong with it.

Dont care if he stays/goes, my point being is, all i heard were the kids giving him credit for helping them with technique, not 1 player ever mentioned Dunham,
thats my point,

It's just like Janikowski, when they are with the team they are the best at what they do and we are all fortunate to have them. Once they "part ways" with the team the old, "what do we need him for" and "who cares he's a goalie coach" or "other teams don't have head scouts" BS starts. SOS. You better stop you'll get labeled as a complainer.

I'd rather the Isles give PAP $5 mill a year and watch Rakshani get 4th line minutes, then see PAP leave and the Isles have to sign 2 washed up vets with ridiculous bonus's just to reach the cap floor and clog a roster spot and suck balls like Roloston,Staois and Pandolfo did last season. At least Staois and Pandolfo played hard but they weren't going to play on any other NHL team last year.

Depending on what "more" is, the Isles may have to do that. I personally don't think his value is more than $4M/season. But, management may feel that his value is more because they likely won't be able to bring in another guy to replace PAP's 67 or so points. The only player of significance up front they need to worry about extending at this point is Moulson in two years. Grabs, KO, Nielsen and JT are all signed long-term. If they pay PAP $4M-$4.5M season for a three or four year deal, does it really hurt the Isles in any way salary-wise? I don't think so.

Didn't see that last year but I agree on PAP. He needs to be signed. Snow put himself in this situation by not trading him unfortunately. 5 million(I personally don't think he's worth it) is a bit steep but it wouldn't surprise me if he gets that and strangely enough it wouldn't surprise me if he gets less. It can go either way. I said it at the trade deadline that this was going to be a problem. Most of the replies to this thought were, "Pa owns buisnesses on LI" and "PA loves LI and is going to re-sign". We'll see, he may but I'm not holding my breath.
