Cute how you said you guys wouldn't be able to sign bryz if you guys didn't get rid of the party boys. You said that like he's quick, or rinne, or lundqvist. Someone said he doesn't have the mental make up in the comments, and he's right, i forgot how long you guys signed him for, and how long is left, but as long as he's goalie, no cup for you guys, on the other hand, with Simmonds, Schenn, who im sad that he got traded before having a chance to play, and voracek and coutuirer, all will be great players, and I doubt all of them are still hear by the time bryz is gone. Philly made the wrong choice getting bryz, instead of working on his five hole, he wants to be an astronaut, and some other crap about space, good job bryz, you screwed the flyers.

Wow.. didn't know you have magical powers of looking into the future. Put the best goalie in the league in the Flyers net and they still don't go anywhere with the the way the Flyers played team defense. Thanks for playing though. Go enjoy your cup.

No one is arguing that Philly had it's share of goaltending problems. But to talk like bryzgalov is garbage is pure nuts. What were Quick's numbers in the playoffs before this year? A goalie is only as good as the team in front of him.

No one is arguing that Philly had it's share of goaltending problems. But to talk like bryzgalov is garbage is pure nuts. What were Quick's numbers in the playoffs before this year? A goalie is only as good as the team in front of him.

I saw Bryz for 4 years down here in AZ, and I was on contract at UCLA when he was in Anaheim. I've seen a lot of the guy.

He never steps up the way the Cup winning goalies do when it counts.

The 24/7 thing that everybody has seen is cute and funny, but the performance on the ice in the playoffs is what seperates the good from the bad. He is more like Luongo, Cujo, and Byran Dafoe in than when the going gets tough, he's not going to rise to the occasion.

You've had a few ok guys in spurts like Boucher for a bit, and the failed cup run with an old Hextal and Garth Snow wearing what is now illegal equipment........but then there is Leighton, Vanbeisbrouck, Burke, Emery, Esche, Nitti, Checmanek, Biron, Oulette, Rouselle, Soderstrom......and those are just the sh!t stains I could name off the top of my head.

The thing is, despite not having a stud goalie, the Flyers rarely were knocked out solely because the goaltending was bad. There certainly were years that was the case, but they also had years where the vaunted and expensive offensive players were invisible.

Look at 2010. In the Final, Leighton struggled. But the Flyers line of Mike Richards, Jeff Carter and Simon Gagne did (frank) all against Chicago. In 2002, the Flyers with names like Roenick, Recchi, Primeau Oates and Gagne scored 2 goals against Patrick Lalime and none of the aforementioned guys had one of the 2.

Just one question Ottawa Senators' fan. Who do you think has watched more Flyers Hockey in recent years, me or you? Nobody has discounted what Mike Richards can do. Jeff Carter would be more suited for our team because we're missing a pure shooter at the moment. Richards MIGHT be known as a great leader if you'd like to buy into the hype but he's not a future hall of famer and I'm not seeing how he'll end up being one of the NHL greatest leaders. Can we compare Mike Richards to Mark Messier? More then likely not. I like Mike Richards and he now has a Cup but LA didn't win under his leadership and every single player on that LA Kings' roster deserves credit.

As for Bryzgalov. The Philadelphia Flyers need to play better defensively, they don't need a goalie.
