you misunderstood....i didnt say they didnt play a role....i said that they didnt lead the kings....big difference.
- Philly1980

What you said is that they can thank Quick, Kopitar, etc. The Kings don't win the Cup without the players you named. But they also don't win it without Richards and Carter. And Stoll, Nolan, King, Mitchell, Scuderi, etc. There are a lot of unsung heroes on that team.

Congrats to Hexy and Gags......

You know here is the Lupul tweet that pissed me off:

Joffrey Lupul ‏@JLupul
Guess Richards and Carter are good enough to get the job done after all. Really happy for those guys.. Sorry Philly

To that i have to say one thing....they were good enough to be on a team that wins the cup....but they werent good enough to lead a team to the cup.... those boys can thank Kopitar, Brown, and Quick for their rings

- Philly1980

I don't know what JOB he's speaking of?
When in fact he was given the chance to get the job done in Philly as well.
Brown had a great game to what I saw...

Life goes on...
Gagne came from Tampa (FA)
Williams from the Canes?
Carter from the Blue Jackets
Richards from Philly

Hexy managment from Philly
Stevens managment from Philly
Murray has been around but from Philly
Lombardi has been around but has connections.

I know i might be missing a player or two but the directon connections is only one player but the media will make it out to be something else.

Bryzgalov and Quick aren't comprable imo. One is a 31 yr old veteran that signed a huge contract who has a ton of pressure to play well in one of the toughest places to play in the NHL, Quick is 23 still on his ELD. Don't see how the two are alike in any way.
- PLindbergh31

And Thomas was 35....whats your point. All i said was it would be nice for the flyers to have the same starting goalie in net for more than a year. Something they havent had for a while. I was not comparing Quick to Bryz...

95% of their team is signed. The Kings have a legit shot at another title next year. Things change from season to season but they are set up to take another run.

and they will and they will be stronger this coming year.
The Kings had a nice mix...and strong goaltending. they flew under the radar and made it to the dance.
and the now NEW cliche
they got hot at the right time.

Quick has been solid throughout his career but really has hit another level the past two season imo. Every year a team wins the cup we want to get something or someone and copy that style but the truth is the NHL changes year to year. Flyers need to stay the course and add the pieces they think will help their club.

They could also have a hangover and miss out on the repeat. Been a long time since we've seen a repeat winner.

Quick was huge and deserving of the Conn Smythe. Put Quick in net with the Flyers team defense in front of him. And see if he wins the Cup.

I might be alone in this, but I was happy for Richards and Carter too. They didn't ask to be traded. Their whole lives were turned upside down, and they were lucky enough to end up on a stanley cup winning team. It was bitter sweet to watch them raise the cup. Sweet because I still like them as players, and bitter because it wasnt with the Flyers. I have always liked LA as my second team, "Flyers West".

Congrats boys, cant wait to see you in the finals next season and take the title from you.

Quick is not on an EL deal. And I believe he is older then 23.

I'm looking at the Kings defense and I dont see how they have more talent. Thats the part that makes me wonder. Like its been said sometimes finding the right mix and executing is more important then talent.

In no way am I saying the Kings dont have a nice core of defenseman, I just think the Flyers are more talented.

Doughty is head and shoulders above anyone we have though.

Key phrase "Flyers team defense"...We saw what happened in march when they played some of that.

Two things are for certain IMO. First the Flyers need to work on TEAM defense. Second the need to find a way to beat other teams with good TEAM defense. If they can do that, they can beat anyone.

The Kings are similar to the Pens IMO. They were bad for a long time, got good draft picks, have a lot of players on ELD and were able to make trades for role players because of their cap space. Kudos to them.

I wouldnt say they have more talent, but I would say their talent is at the right developmental stage.

Now the trick is making that kind of play happen consistently.

Well Bryzgalov is the starter for the forseeable future. So there are no issues there.

Richie and cartsey lift the cup last night and today it's raining and dreary in Philadelphia. Coincidence?

They are certainly not like the Penguins. Penguins were bad, but they also tanked on purpose. LA did not tank on purpose, and I dont believe they got 1 first overall pick, yet alone 2-3...

I would say Edmonton is more like Pittsburgh then LA is.

I'm not banking on it. Don't see much changing. Most of their forwards are going to be the same.
