I'm really looking forward to the next two decades of Sean Couturier's career as a flyer.

I think it's all in the intangibles listed up above by others, a chain reaction of sorts. I don't believe most of that would have happened without the two ex-Flyers, perhaps not making the playoffs.

but that's dismissing the probable intangibles that another player could have brought whom might have been there if they weren't in the first place

What I'm getting at though is I don't see how they are as our maple leafs fan put "cornerstones" of the Kings. Brown, Kopitar, Doughty and Quick are the said cornerstones out there. Unlike here when those two were called upon to play that role, instead I see them in more of a backseat role there. Doesn't make them less deserving or any of that but imo still justifies the Flyers making the moves they did.

No doubt. within two years he's definitely the 2nd line center if not next season.

Does anyone seriously think that without Carter and Richards the Kings couldn't have won the cup this year? Just curious.

The Kings needed every player on the team to win the Cup. The soldiers such as Stoll, King, Nolan, Lewis, were every bit as important as the star players were. The Kings were a team from one player to the next.

It's odd with them.

I think they "could" have, based on the talent on the team pre-FrickandFrack, but I don't think they even make the playoffs without Carter. It did a little more than make them deep. That deal definitely woke them the (frank) up, I think.

Am I saying Carter "made" this team or carried them? Not at all. I think it was the shakeup moreso than Carter himself or his play.

Adding a Carter changes the dynamic of your team. It adds that big goal scoring Winger. It allows other players to play a role they're better suited for. Same with Richards.

Without those two the Kings don't even make it out of the first round, imho.

Richards mentioned last night what a tough up and down year he had, at one point wondering if he was ever going to score. For whatever reason (and maybe just psychological), when they acquired Carter they started heating up. Without that deal I doubt they make the playoffs.
