And it makes a hell of a lot more sense if his doctor said your foot is still infected, it wouldn't be a good idea to have surgery right now. Its JVR's doctor. And no matter who is paying for it, in the end the doctor doesn't have to tell the team unless JVR says so.

So if some mail room boy over hears a conversation where JVR says, "I don't want to have the surgery right now"......no context, not hearing what was said before or after...he tells Eskin, and Eskin says JVR "HOLDING UP" surgery.

(the above is probably way more accurate than anything else spewed out there today.)

Eskin could have worded it differently, but he wants the hits and the controversy. Because NOW, we are all talking about JVR "REFUSING" to have surgery, and that it was Eskin who said it. Its a joke.

Anyway:

Dave Isaac ‏@davegisaac

Can confirm @sbaickerCSN's report that JVR's hip surgery is delayed because his foot is still infected. Should have a story up soon w/ more.

- MBFlyerfan

Possible. Eskin usually doesnt throw out this kind of info to just get attention or hits. I believe he did get some info about JvR but who knows whats true and whats not.

I agree MJL. I doubt a GM that was shopping 2 players would almost break down in tears when the trade happens. To me it sounded more like something that he didn't want to do, but had to. Like being offered something he couldnt refuse.

except those deals were hardly of the "too good to be true" variety. They were good deals for both teams, but logic dictates that there must have been other considerations for Homer to move 2 stars who were already signed to long term contracts.

He certainly could not have been blown away by the offers, imo. They were good, fair offers ... not unbelievably great.

That could be too. Would have to be someone pretty high up though wouldn't it? I don't think the receptionist would be able to feed this type of information to the Burger King.

Maybe it's Zack Hill. Ever since that phony Arnold story, he's lost credibility.

When I see "the room" I think dressing room and players and coaches. I don't see them knowing or sharing this kind of thing.

They seem like good deals to me, especially when you have Giroux ready to break out, and believed JVR was ready. Over stock at Center, with a goalie to sign, and good deals on the table...

It's a big deal to Nashville. They're demanding he have it.

However, JVR refused to get it done last year when the Flyers recommended it too.

The only room Eskin gets his news from is the mail room. Those kids hear everything.

She said that JvR had the surgery 4 months ago, and the "broken foot" was a cover up for his healing time.

And yes, I know it was a joke and everyone with half a brain knows it was a joke. But the assumption of brain size is a tough one to make some days.

I understand, that's why I'm saying take it with a grain of salt. I fully understand that people aren't going to think the info is credible.

However, I do honeslty trust the person telling me this, and Eskin is never wrong about this kind of stuff either.

- LordStanley88

Earlier you said you don't have an agenda. But maybe the person telling you does. Or maybe his source is a bad source. Either way it's hearsay.

haven't back read much but does anyone think maybe the Flyers have gotten either A. a team to take Pronger's contract or B. persuaded Timmonen to waive his NTC ? Just curious, as i don't see what real commodities we have to trade that can free up cap space and not disrupt the actual team too much.

There is a humongous big difference between a player delaying surgery and flat out refusing to have surgery. Hence the reaction.

I brought up your theory on twitter and it has created a stir.

sure, they were good deals. For both teams. But were they good enough for Homer to trade the 2 biggest stars on his team? Stars that were already signed to long term deals? I'm not so sure about that. There had to be additional reasons, imo.

Me neither. I have sources that said the prior pages (and probably this one and all that follow) are akin to a dungheap.
