I think the point Leafs43 is trying to make is that Kaberle and Penner, while underwhelming, have contributed starkly more at the NHL level in the past 15 months than anyone they were traded for. That's the reality of NHLers for futures trades.

Pretty lame draft, no real top end talent...a bunch of meh after the first few picks. I don't see any special players, but then again it's nearly impossible to tell at this point.
- blahman20

No, it's pretty obvious Yakupov will be pretty special. It's been obvious for 2 years now.

Well why didn't he just say that then.
That is a valid argument, a temporary win of the trade.

Not only that, Gal is being told to look the most like Malkin... That's a pretty special player if you ask me.

Obviously, which is why winners in these sorts of trades aren't known for years.

Still, worth it for the Oil. He never would have re-upped here anyways. Happy with that return rather than seeing him eventually walk for zilch.

Apparently the Oilers are chasing the Ducks pick at number 6. Yakupov & Reinhart?

That would be the perfect thing for EDM to do, in my opinion. Just what does it take for the Ducks to give up their pick is the question. Maybe Gagner + another piece?

Depends on what Tambi is offering but we could still grab a great defensive prospect at 6. And despite how we harass longbottom about Reinhart, he really could wind up being the best of them. I'd more in favor of Reilly if he was still there though.

Probably something like that. Leaves us painfully thin down the middle after RNH though.

If the Leafs were picking first, Yakupov would be considered the next Gretzky.

You mean if the Leafs were picking first that Yakupov would be considered the next Alexander Daigle.

If the Leafs were drafting 1st overall:

Leafs Fans: " Yakupov is the best ever. He's the next Bure you know."
Other Fans:"Daigle and Stefan LOLZ!"

When the Leafs draft anywhere below 1st overall:

Leafs Fans: "1st overall is injury prone. I like player X better anyways."
Other Fans: "can't even tank properly lolz derp!"

When the Leafs have traded their 1st round draft pick:

"Weak draft year."

Oilers already have the next Gretzky: RNH. Apparantely his vision is like Gretzky's, says Cloutier.

Ooh, read one of Treenas' tweets wrong. Hockeybreak still seems sketchy.
