Her music or Disney channel?

Lohan, Spears, Cyrus. They raise such great young upstanding people huh?

- martok2309

Her music! Although in this one music video her shirt was soaking wet

Cyrus is a skank, and Lohan and Spears are a cross between party animals and drug addicts. These people used to be/still are idols to some.

This is why I'm a hockey fan. The drug addicts are a dime a 5,000 (exaggerated, I know)

I honestly see the Oil making two trades that will effect their draft:

Edm: Dubinsky
NYR: Hemsky, Teubert

Edm: 8th pick
Carolina: Gagner, Rieder, Peckham

Edmonton drafts:
Yakapov with the 1st
Rielly or Reinhart with the 8th

- mbell

No thx to Dubinsky, and if they trade up to 8(which I believe is possible), and Grig is still there as Cloutier thinks, they'd be retarded not to take him. Idk, for some reason I see them getting both Yak and Grig....maybe I'm just dreaming though.

San Jose has never had a good goaltender, what a crock. I guess all these guys were sieves.

-Ed Belfour
-Kelly Hrudey
-Arturs Irbe
-Miikka Kiprusoff
-Evgeni Nabokov
-Antti Niemi
-Vesa Toskala
-Mike Vernon

These are all good goalies or great goalies. Just because the organization unloads good goalies does not mean the team has never had quality in net. BAD management decisions.

If they do acquire the 8th pick, wouldn't it make more sense to draft a Defenseman, even if Grig is still available?

I'm personally against drafting a Dman this year. Simple fact is whoever you pick now won't be a big help for 2 seasons min. They shoulda picked DMen couple years ago. Now they've gotta stick to this plan an just build an elite O, and hope the DMen they've got turn out. And I mean, having Grig and Yak on your second line would be pretty sick.

Argueably all those goalies have their niches. Belfour was terrible in his half season with SJ, Hrudey was at the end of his prime, Irbe had one good season before leaving, Kiprusoff was just a case of a player being traded before he can show his potential, Nabokov was good, but could never get over the playoff hump, Niemi IMO isn't really that good as when he won the cup with CHI, he had a great defense, Toskala is mediocre (don't really need to explain why) and Vernon also only had one good season. Maybe what Cloutier meant was that SJ hasn't had a Top 5 goalie, in the sense that someone who can get them into the Final by standing on his head every odd game (which they really haven't). All of the goalies were good, just mostly not with SJ.

I don't know, Reinhart and Trouba seems like he could be the type of player that could jump in after one year of conditioning.

Kipper was a rookie with SJ and was terrible while with them.
Hrudey was terrible throughout his whole career...
Irbe also played with them at the beginning of his career and wasn;t very good for them.
Belfour played what? 5 games with them?

The only goalie worth mentioning is Nabokov... who was a great REGULAR SEASON goalie. He was very very inconsistent in the playoffs. He had that one year after the lock out where he played lights out.. and Sharks as a team wasn't good enough.

Overall, the Sharks have had some great goalies at the early stages of their career or for short stints. It doesn't mean they have had great goaltending throughout the organization.

I dont think many people at the time were giving Kipper the potential he has now. I mean same could be said with Rask.

Sometimes you have to make assumptions... they had Nabokov for a long while... and that didn't turn out too well for them.

Every team in the NHL has probably made a move like that once or twice. It's a common occurrence for players to become the true player they after quite some time. Look at Thomas for instance, he was drafted in 1994 and didn't become a starting goalie until the 06-07 season (which that year ironically showed the Leafs being impatient, trading Rask away for Raycroft).

True - but play him between Taylor Hall and Nail Yakapov and I think his numbers would improve...

I just think he's what the Oil needs - A bigger, tough, hard-working, nasty to play against centre. The offence isn't entirely whats required...he brings things that the Oil doesn't have in their top 6, or really in their line-up.

- mbell

I also like Dubinsky and think he would be an excellent fit in Edmonton.

I think Ryan Jones and Brandon Dubinsky are one in the same. I actually think jones is better because of his production vs. his contract.
- tomburton99

You can have Jones for Dubinsky, and we'll even throw in a pick. You can watch Jones cheat for offense all of next year.

I could see both but I'm not too excited about either. Last thing the Oilers need is another summer filled with "meh" signings. Go big or go home.

If they are going after Harding hopefully that means they plan on burying Khabi. Parros could be a good replacement for Hordichuk but nothing bigger than that.

I highly disagree on Irbe. He was SJ's saviour for a couple seasons, and single handedly got them into the playoffs. I was a big fan when he was on the Canucks, as well.

Maybe not quite elite, but Irbe was a very solid goalie. Loved the mask, too.

So, looking back, do you guys still think we got fleeced on the Penner deal?

Yep. Penner has looked sorta good for one playoff year. He isn't the reason the Kings are winning a cup. He's been helpful.

Colten Teubert...Not sure if he ever becomes an NHL regular or not. But that pick we used on Klefbom...he's gonna be huge.

It's an instance of a win-win trade. Penner helped you guys get a cup, and it looks like Klefbom will be a key component of our future D. We can both be happy bout it for now, however five-ten years down the road Klefbom could be a top defenseman in the league and it would look stupid from your part. Only time will tell.
