A core of players are players that actually play in the NHL, Frattin Ashton Kadri Colborne McKegg Blacker haven't made the NHL yet. So obviously they're not core players. Some of them, or perhaps all, might not ever be full time NHL players.
Lupul is 29 yrs old and a UFA after this season, Liles is 32 oft injured and on the downhill stretch of his career.
Grabovski is a good second line center, Kessel is one of the better goal scorers in the league, Dion is overrated and overpaid but still fairly young at 28, Gardiner yes. Other than that they don't have a lot of good young players! |

We need; a third line center, top four defenseman and a top six RW'er. |

Just a guess...but I'd say Luongo would prefer to go to Florida if he's given a choice. Which he will be given. Playoff team with some great young players and it's home for his wife and kids. - LeftCoaster

I was thinking Huberdeau when I said that, you'd have to admit he's a great young prospect. A highly skilled offensive center the Leafs would really love to have! Kadri has a similar skillset, but not the two way game or work ethic I'm hearing Huberdeau has.
Edit: they're ranking #1 by Hockey's Future for a reason. |

I don't see this deal happening you are asking a lot for Lu don't get me wrong he's one of the best! But this would make a lot of problems for us and also if Lu won't retire we are (frank)ed because once we take that contract it's not going anywhere else.
Also your deal propose wasn't bad but you need to take off Petrovic and then maybe you have a deal remember Lu is at an all time all right now due to his contract and rumor he wants out. |

Why are Leaf fans still posting useless proposals for Luongo? This blog is about Florida. |

Yeah Huberdeau is looking like he could develop into a HUGE asset for the Panthers...that franchise needs it badly too.
Still wonder what the heck will happen with Kadri...whatever it is I'm sure it'll happen on another team. |

I'm just finding it interesting that a lot of Leaf fans want to give nothing for Luongo, but when a report comes out that Florida might be the front runner, we get a bunch more Leaf fan offers. Now Franson is the center piece and not Armstrong/Connelly/Komiserek. Is playoff panic starting to set in? |

I respectfully disagree, I think he's sick and tired of the spotlight. I've watched his interviews almost nightly over the past six hockey seasons.
I believe he, like most any player, wants to win a Stanley Cup. His chances of making the playoffs are much better in Florida than they are in Toronto at this point. Don't take that personal, it's not a slight against you or your team.
Markstrom is only 22 years old. In four years when he's paid his dues like Schneider has I can see him taking over, that gives Lu four years there. Which is about what I can see him playing, four or five more years. - LeftCoaster
I see Markstrom as the back up next year... no reason to trade for Lou.. They won't be a cup contender for a couple more years provided they keep getting better... I don't see it as where Lou wants to play... but more of who wants Lou... It would not surprise me to see Lou back in Vancouver next year... hopefully not tho. |

Kadri demands a trade...gets sent to Minnesota. Yeo gets fired...they hire Wilson, Kadri ends up back in the AHL. - Juice

Luongo won't get the same return as those guys, because of his terrible contract. The Leafs and panthers know there isn't many teams in the running, no way they will give up a lot. |

I know I'm the minorty when I say this, but I would have no problem going forward with Luongo and trading Schnieder for a awesome return. |
