Guys, ur not gonna believe this, but I figured to tell.....
2nite the Islanders had a meeting with fans an a Q&A with Snow....
from 6pm-7:30, so about 50+ ppl i think showed up
Anyhow, funny thing was, how weak the questions were to Snow, but besides that, how he skirted around with some of his answers, geez what a joke....

Only sad thing to point out is, he emphasized on how deep the Islanders prospect pool is, an how this team an players are only gonna succeed, by how they mature in the NHL. that response made me laugh to a point, that unfortunately this process will take another 5yrs

One person asked a question of toughness or lack there of, an this dope of a GM said they are tough, we had Matt Martin lead the league in hits.......
wow, thats all i can say,

Snow is a moron who morons believe in.

I like Murray and Hamonic as a first pair. But, Grigorenko is very interesting to me. In 4 years I think Grigorenko will be the best player from this draft. He'd look good on the Power play instead of Nielson.
- hawks101010

I think Murray could be a big piece for the Isles if things break their way and some of the prospects they're counting on develop as hoped for. They have a couple of puck moving prospects close to NHL-ready, and one or two bigger, tougher d prospects further away. But Murray could develop into the all-around player that might tie it all together for the defense of maybe three years from now.

That's also Charles Wang's AHL team so when you make ridiculous notions Wang does not want fighters because they may cost him money in fines/suspensions that also applies to the AHL.

Oh yes, Brent Thompson was suspended by the AHL for the first three games of next season.

Pal I've said many times on here that I don't buy that Wang anti fighting theory. Don't be so reckless with your paint brush.

Isles management makes themselves look foolish without any help from Botta(who is an ass clown himself). Capuano is a jackass who was hired by an even bigger jackass who continues to make more jackass decisions, it never ends

I feel like the forwards may be getting over-hyped. Just a feeling, really, since I haven't seen these guys play much, if at all. But it seems like this was the draft for defensemen, then all of a sudden much of the focus has seemed to shift to some of the forwards over maybe the last month or so. Agreed that D are harder to project, but I think Murray has a decent body of work to judge from juniors, and from what I read, he's not really a project that needs a lot more time to work on this or that. They say he's a pretty refined player already, so maybe that makes it a little easier to evaluate him and project what he may be able to do once he fills out a bit more.

Seemed like the rankings earlier on were Yakupov, then Murray and Grigorenko in no particular order. Then they started bumping other players up based on how they played late in the year, manufactured question marks about higher-ranked players, etc. I'm just skeptical of later changes in the rankings. It seems like they just change things sometimes to keep conversation going, or because they're over-analyzing things maybe. Look at what they did to Couturier last year...all these questions about him at the last minute after he had been at the top of the list for almost an entire year. Then he goes way later than he should have, and Philly ends up looking pretty smart, or at least fortunate.

I'd be happy with Murray. If he's off the board and they take a forward, and it's Grigorenko, I'd probably be happy with that too.

Read somewhere late last night that Nail had not one but two concussions this past season. Not sure how credible the info was. But I wouldnt be surprised if Edmonton passes on him or trades down.

Capuano did not look over his head in 2010-11 when he took a team 13 games under five hundred back to four and were scoring tons of goals in the second half, or being credited as one of the best teams in the league since December, with other coaches saying how hard working they were.

Capuano got back Eaton, Mottau, and Jurcina full time for 2011-12 who sunk Gordon in 2010 when healthy, Snow signed Staios and let the faster skating defenders go.

Sometimes all you need is Hillen, Martinek, Gervais and players who can move the puck, even Wishart was a plus five in twenty games when the defense could skate.

Al Arbour was not going to get speed or scoring out of that defense that would help the forwards.

If that info is true, I could see Edmonton being cautious. I could be wrong since I don't follow the Oilers much, but I believe they've had some issues with skilled forwards being injured a lot in the recent past (the generation of forwards they drafted before the Eberle/Hall/RNH generation). And if they don't take Nail, they'll probably take Murray.

I'll probably follow the Oilers more closely this season. I always try to pick a Western Conference team that seems to share the Isles' hard luck. For a while it was Phoenix...they had a developing prospect pool, bad results in the standings, and even arena/relocation issues. But now it's hard to relate to a team that went to the conference finals, so I'm in search of a new team.
