“I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uhmmm, some people out there in our nation don't have maps and uh, I believe that our, I, education like such as uh, South Africa, and uh, the Iraq, everywhere like such as, and I believe that they should, uhhh, our education over here in the US should help the US, uh, should help South Africa, it should help the Iraq and the Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future, for us.”
The funny part is that it has been going on for a few years now... these people that argue that front loaded contracts are valuable for teams who can pay less but get a higher cap hit so they can reach the cap floor.
I can only think of one team that maybe overpaid in an effort to reach the cap floor, and even that is debatable (Florida). I can't think of one example of a team taking on a bad contract to reach the cap floor... and yet this arguement still crops up. - GoneFullRetard
Probably still too early to draw final conclusions on this argument. I think the cap floor has only recently risen to levels that some teams wouldn't normally spend up to, so not enough of a sample size. I agree that it's stupid to assume a front-loaded contract will have a high trade value as a result...if anything it simply makes it possible to dump a decent player with a huge contract for a marginal return.
Only two scenarios that come to mind are Campbell in Florida who was still viewed as a decent defender...just way overpaid. And CBJ overspending in UFA for James Wisneiwski...simply because they had the coin they needed to spend

Campbell Florida is a posibility but he was still known as a good defender, in his prime, so not *really* the same thing.
