I didn't really think we could get rid of him lol, I feel the same way as Connolly. I don't mind Armstrong tho, like if he can stay healthy. It appears he may have contracted Connolly's Disease... - PTVinnyMac
if we can dump those kinds of guys off i am all for it.. its time to just start playing the kids and simply live and die by them
just my opinion |

I know!! one deal at a time! thats too much for my little brain to take in all at once - Dozzer
Oh...I dont mind the multi deal proposals etc...its when he KEEPS spelling Kulemins name wrong!! |

So, why is it ludicris exactly? I'd like your rebuttle... - PTVinnyMac
think about it logically. you're expecting to turn a bunch of supporting pieces into the first overall pick in the draft. it doesn't work that way. |

it's a wonderful thought. but your trade for Edmonton's first is a non-starter. it doesn't make sense.
MacArthur isn't getting you a first rounder.
you're not getting Luongo AND a first, not with Vancouver having such a dearth of solid prospects. - DoubleDown
too late.. proposed on HB, good as gold now |

It has gone HB viral, no turning back now. |
|
|
|
that's your issue with that entire ludicrous scenario? - DoubleDown
Yes - one because hes being suggested for a trade, and two because that player dosnt exist within our system
*With respect to "corrected" post....Dont wanna trade Kulemin while his stock is low. |

I'm not expecting. Suggesting.
OK, here's my reasoning. Edm needs D. correct? So they get Two D men both with 3-4 potential shut down and Offensive, one of them 22 and one of them 24.
Plus a good goaltending prospect who'd prolly be best cast as a back up next year, with, if Edmonton gets rid of Khabi, well, would work for them too.
I'm not saying it's a for sure, Hell, to make it better I'd take Khabi back from EDM and bury him. But I structured this on need. Remember there's three players that are NHL ready in that deal. Maybe you don't agree with what I feel there upside is, but again, they're NHL ready. Isn't EDM at the stage where they need that? |

Oilers dont need 3/4 dmen, even though those guys were 5/6/7 dmen for the Leafs last year.... curious.
Take Khabi back and bury him? He would be your best goalie.
Anyways, that deal isnt even in the same universe as to what the Oilers would be looking for in return for the #1 overall pick.

Nash may want out but he's not calling the shots. for Nash AND the second overall, you're looking at this year's first and second, next year's first plus a solid prospect like Gardiner. any other deal makes no sense from Columbus's POV. - DoubleDown
Sounds about right. |

Exactly.
To make it work, you have to include a 4th round pick in next year's draft. |

He needs one more season even if it's just as a qualified RFA....and he was the best 2 way player we had even when he wasn't scoring - JIMI-JAMES
fully agree...unless a GM is willing to pay for his potential upside, which I doubt they would want to do, then we should keep him until he can either raise his stock again in the trade market, or simply as an asset to our team. |

I'm sure not even Crosby could pry it out of Tambi's cold, dead hands right? Or is Crosby the starting point? |

Somewhere between Crosby and the pile of average players you proposed.

Honestly, I'd even have to think about that.
1st overall, or the greatest player in the game today, but only when he's actually in the game.
It's not an easy answer.
In any event, a bucket of Toronto's troubles doesn't get you the #1 overall.
Let's move on. |

What do people here feel like Tambi could request for his pick? Jordan Stall? Straight up, or is that not enough? Thoughts and opinions? |

You can't sign Schultz until July 1st, which is a week after the draft.
Back to the drawing board. - Atomic Wedgie
I could be wrong but I thought I read somewhere that he would actually become a free agent before July 1st due to when he sent notification about leaving college.
I will try to find the link and see if i remember correctly.
Edit: I found this but it seems to be speculation.

That triggers a process that will likely make him an unrestricted free agent, perhaps as early as the NHL Draft on June 22. |

GMs don't generally trade the first overall, so chances are his asking price would be stoooopid high.
It has to be high enough that the fan base is really, really happy.
Like Getzlaf for 1st overall happy. |
